Looks are just right. Engine specs are fine for city driving. But, NO Climate Control on the top end variant?! WHY

Can someone who is spending some time in and around the Polo on display get us some basic information:
Is there a dead pedal?
Is there a MID (USB/Aux) interface?
Is there a remote fuel/ boot release?
Is there EBD along with the ABS?

I keep going back to GTO's thread opening post where he says "move over, Fabia, your time has come and gone".
I for one am extremely disappointed the Fabia did not do well.
For the kind of kit one got in the top line Elegance version, the Polo even in Highline spec is a poor comparison.

Is it that difficult for VW to launch the Passat CC here? Just see what (relatively) good looks did to the Superb's fortunes. I'm sure there's massive potential for the CC here. Anyone at VW listening?

Wasn't the VW Scirroco supposed to be displayed here along with the Passat CC? I haven't found any pics of these cars here.

@ GTO , phenomenal looks ? Are you sure you were not wearing rose tinted coolers.
I would say the car looks handsome at best what with all the glam bits like headlight , tail assembly gone
And if the car is solidly built , it has to be heavy and the weight to power ratio would suffer with a 1.2 L engine.
They only major difference between trendline and comfortile is 4door power windows and height adjustable drivers seat, which should have been standard if this is a premium hatchback.
It all depends very much on the pricing now.
We don't want this to go the Jazz way. At the premium hatchback segment, people will be looking for something more than, adequate looks and a solid interior build.
The i 20 looks classier on the inside and outside .

Really loved the simple, classy and well proportioned looks of the VW Polo. Rear seating looks cramped but I guess its OK. If VW could price it in 4L - 6L range then it's going to be their bread and butter in INDIA. Hope the higher end version comes with more powerful engine and all the fancy features.
TATA deisgners are going to run for cover if Ratan Tata pays them a visit soon. Hope they don't screw up with the Safari(if they go for an all new design).

Hi Jay,

You have done a good home work. I got all the details of the Polo from the website you gave. I would like to see the car physically and jump to Polo. Thanks for the information.Let me check Chennai dealer and post.

Hi Suhilkumar,

It is worth waiting for a couple of months for Polo rather than hurrying for Punto.

Good1

Neat looks, classy interiors.Polo will compete the fabia.

But i personally would like the Honda Jazz with a 1.5 litre vtech engine of the city. That would be some car to drive.

Somehow felt the storage is cramped.

The interiors of the i 20 looks a class apart.
Why did VW decide to go for such basic interiors?

Is it the cost cutting effect?

IMO, VW have tried to keep prices lower, and at the same time they have kept the quality and standards of VW brand intact. so we don't get 6 airbags and climate control. but what you get is fantastic mileage from the diesel (30kmpl) yeah ground breaking is the word they used. and petrol will also really give 15+ with 3 pot engine. i am quite sure of it. and thats what works in india.

1) mileage
2) space
3)quality
4)reliability
5)looks
6)brand
7)resale

and the biggest swing factor is the price. and they will surprise everyone i think.
