French car maker giant Renault said on Tuesday it will launch two models in India in 2011 that will be rolled out from the company's upcoming Chennai plant.

The company also plans to resume its investment plans for India that was stopped due to the global economic slowdown.

"We will be launching our luxury car 'Fluence' and our crossover 'Koleos' in the second half of 2011, both the cars will come in petrol and diesel versions," Renault India Country GM and MD Marc Nassif told reporters at the 10th Auto Expo here.

He said the company plans to roll out its full range of cars in India within two years from now.

"Our plan involves introduction of several new cars within 18-24 months and the full range in 48 months time. These cars will be produced in Chennai and we plan to launch the Fluence and Koleos model in 2011," he said.

The company's full range will have small to luxury cars, Nassif said, adding, the company is also close to finalising the plan for a distribution network and it would be announced in the first week of February.

Both the cars looks fresh and neat. Fluence rear end is really beautiful. Any news about the price?

Will M&M continue the sales and service?

and what about other specs?

JV with Mahindra was for the Logan, most likely Renault will make both the cars on its own.

This is what Autocar says on Fluence:
- 10-12 lakh price. Will be a Corolla, Cruze, Civic rival.
- It is built on the Renault Megane III chassis.
- Engines & transmission: 100 bhp 1.5 DCi. 110 bhp Petrol. Six speed manuals and CVT auto.

A 100 BHP car from Renault to take on the likes of Civic and Corolla is it going to be another joke like Logon which is known to be terribly under powered and over priced by the way the cars looks cool.Fluence rear looks like modified superb

Would it be having the same fate as logan among its competitors if fluance is launched with a below par motor when compared with civic and corolla. The comparison with is strictly on engine parameter related to its competitors!!

Come on, you can't judge a car only by it's power. Just add Petes to the diesel and you will get 130 BHP easily

BTW, even Skoda Laura has 105 BHP, but it has won the hearts of many (though the A.S.S ruined everything)

Autocar is not always right. And the company has still not disclosed the engines it will be offering.

Globally the Fluence comes with 1.6 110 bhp and 2.0 140 bhp petrol and 1.5 110 bhp diesel engines. Now its up to REnault to decide what it should get in order to compete with the likes of Camry and Corolla.

The Fluence is a good looking car, with a bit of Megane and Mazda 6 influence thrown in. It will in all probability, come with a bigger engine than the 1.5 DCi. But hey, we hear Toyota are considering a 1.4 CDi for the Corolla some time soon!

Both cars look nice from pics. Only if Renault can bring in competitive features at a competetive price would they make any difference. The second car looks like a x-over

Based on the Nissan Qashqai. The Koleos looks a bit quirky.

Renault-Nissan could consider bringing in the Dacia/Renault Duster, which is not only smarter looking but could be cheaper to make too. The updated Nissan Qashqai is another good option.

Surprisingly, there was no mention of the Sandero in the press release.

"France’s second-largest car maker Renault is ready to make an aggressive solo entry with seven or eight new models, ranging from a 1.1 litre hatcback to a luxury sedan."

I think we can really expect these vehicles to come in soon and I am sure Renault will break the tie-up with Mahindra.
