Dec 2009 Sales in xls format

Enjoy.
Pls. do not rave unneccesarily about the exceptionally high growth of Dec 2009. The denominator (Dec 2008) was very low.

Hi Vasudeva:

Does the Indian automotive industry publish the sales figures or is it based on research/guesstimate? I am asking as some folks were speculating on other threads about the sales figure of the Sumo Grande.

And so now GM has officially surpassed TATA in the compact car segment 5477 v/s 4228 putting it at No 3 after MS and Hyundai.

Thanks vasudeva! That's a very detailed sales chart.
Must say, phenomenal growth by Fiat!!
Q2FY10 growth is 706%!!! but then in Q3 it goes down to 432%!

AFAIK automotive companies publish the monthly sales on the websites and since they would have taken public money(shares) they will have to give out each and every detail as hand out. This is displayed in the sales office of dealers also.

What is the midsize offering from BMW in India? There are 13 units of these sold in Dec '09 - do we have the 1 Series out? Don't find anything less than the 3 in their website?!!

Based on some of the above comments, I think we should not read too much into Dec 2009 losers or winners, or high/low growths. Various reasons:
1. Year end change
2. Unexpected or scheduled shutdowns for maintenance.
3. Satiation effect: high growth in previous months.
4. Sales figure boosting for some MNCs to report full year growth (European and US financial year typically ends on 31-12).

Is it possible to also know the production figures of each car every month from any website?

This would help to assess the number of cars lying in the inventory.

Looks like the sales of Honda Civic got affected by Cruze . Hopefully Cruze will stay around that mark for the upcoming months .

Thanks Vasudev.

GM compact segment numbers include 800 units of beat as well. They took over tata numbers. What was the reason of tata low sale in compact segment? Is it due to annual production shut down ?
