it is only 1.8 which is getting ready at the plant and Beat with 1.0L diesel engine.

with ya Screwdriva, but for a different reason.

I just love the refinement and the thrust of a petrol machine and sadly this cannot be compared to any of the diesel cars. Besides, I use a car for not more than 3-4 years and for about 70K kms. In the end the amount saved on diesel is very minimal when compared to its maintenance cost. In most cases this amount is paid upfront for a diesel version and that with half the features missing.

A 1.6 version cruze would mean it becomes less appealing to the premium crowd who looks at corolla/civic.
