Vivekji05's new magazine - Quarter Mile!

A BHPian - Vivekji05 - has only just released a new car magazine in the market. You guys will remember his threads:

The 1.6 Twins

500 BHP Skoda RS

Accord V6 Test

Well, I hope to see the same passion & straight forwardness in the magazine as well. With most car magazines retailing for between 60 - 100 bucks, Zigwheels created quite the flutter with its 10 rupee pricing (Link to related discussion (Zig Wheels out at Rs.10 a copy (A Times of India presentation))). Vivek takes it one step further.....Quarter Mile is entirely free! It's currently circulated within a set database of car owners. Of course, one can also register on the quartermile website for copies. Challenge? With free distribution, the revenue model depends entirely on advertisements. Keep those reviews unbiased, Vivek. Find your USP, it's a crowded marketplace out there. Your paper & picture quality are good to start with, content covered has got to be more comprehensive and go beyond 50 pages.

Good luck, man!

What is the website name ?

I dont know whether I am the only one who think this way , I am basically against printing paper .
Going fully digital is the way .And the speed at which the digital hits ppl will be faster and the number of ppl who get to access digital also increases many folds. Imagine ppl who forward this via digitally, it will be many times the size of hard copies.
So please plan to go fully digital . This will also reduce your distribution and manpower costs( zero basically ) .

Kudos ,all the best .

PS:This is the same reason I have stopped daily news papers and any other kind off mags.

I got to know this right from the horse's mouth, since Vivek is also my friend on Orkut.

All the best to you, Vivek in this new venture, and knowing about your penchant for writing, as well as pics, i am sure success will come your way.

And not to forget that wonderful drive test of ANHC in October 2009, which we all waited for so eagerly. http://www.team-bhp.com/forum/test-d...ty-driven.html

Vivek: All the best for the magazine. You will have a grand reception in the market.

OT but you seem to be too much moved by Abhishek's Idea advertisements. Don't forget going fully digital does not neccessarily mean zero carbon emissions. Lot of people in the country don't have access to laptops/computers, and digital content is not recommended for long durations as it can be harmful for eyes. Also, there is energy (electrical) wasted in leu of not having to cut trees for paper.

Congratulations Vivek. I went through a copy of your magazine and really loved the quality. Even the paper quality and finish is really good. Keep up the good work and hope to read more from you soon.

Super duper. Sending out free copies at least during the initial days are bound to see your subscription grow in the later years.

Wish you luck.
