As long as DC doesn't force his ideas for styling a car and merely trains students with the tools of the trade, this is welcome.

If students are allowed to think out of the box and do something new, its a good option. if syllabus contains references from DC design, no point in doing this course.

any idea what is the cost of teh course?

Also, there is no correspondence courses available at the college.
Moreover, it would have been good if they could offer select courses from their cirriculam to people who are interested instead of having to take the entire degree.

Re: DYP-DC CENTER for Automotive Research and Studies(DC College) Now OPEN !!

*Bumping up an old thread*.

Hi guys,

One of my cousins, who is artistically talented and interested in cosmetic modifications on automobiles (cars mainly), would like to take up such an auto-designing course. Going through the DYP-DC's website and trusting DC's brand image, their courses seem promising. But what are the other options we have for similar programmes in India? (or abroad). I'm not sure whether correspondence courses are viable, but do we have anyone else other than DC offering design courses?

Google brought me back to this page

There is Raffles Design Institute which you can check out.
They don't have a Automotive styling course but there is this Product Design course which has Transport Design in its curriculum.
Its a 3 yr course with a bachelors degree in design from Raffles, Australia.
Actually I went to the Santacruz branch of raffles last week for the course enquiry. Fees are approx 18 lacs for the entire course.

Posting some queries on behalf of a friend who wants to pursue a PG course at the institute.

1. How are the faculty and facilities at the institute?
2. What will be the approx. fees for the course?

Thanks.
