Can some one post specs and reviews of Koleos, expected pricing, launch dates (if planned) etc.?

I am just hoping that the impotent MRPL closes down. Logan's operations are handed over back to Renault, so that it can upgrade and improvise it whenever they want.

Renault Koleos, a compact SUV if entered India will compete head on with CR-V, Vitara, X-Trail and Captiva. Current Engine options are as follows:-
> 2.5 L Petrol, with 169 bhp
> 2.0 L Diesel with 148bhp or 170 bhp.
The engine specs were obtained from wikipedia. The 168 bhp diesel is likely to head here.
Expected price is about Rs 19 lakhs. It should arrive here by 2010 end.

This crossover SUV is developed by Nissan-Renault. Their first product together. Its actually built at the Renault Samsung Motor plant in Korea thereby giving it cost advantage. It also has X-Trails "All Mode" 4WD system.

Forgot to add pics :)

Is the Renault Koleos and Nissan Murano are apeearing to be built on same identical platform?

Problem is Renault will be known in India as the manufacturer of Logan. That will the first hurdle they have to overcome if they want to continue as an independent car company in India.

True latheesh.
Logan is very under rated car in our market. I too was rarely interested in this 'boring to look' car, Till i drove it.
I was like 'wow' and how I forgot that it is European. Its ride and handling are too good for its class (Dzire and indigo not even close) and space management is outstanding .
Renault has great cars in their portfolio. The first mistake it did was to join M&M and second was obviously bringing in the Logan first.
I don't get how they lost it completely, The brand building exercise.

Hi guys,

It is good they are opening their own dealership rather than a dependent. The SUV price seems to be on the higher side. If they want Indian market they should come down with pricing.

No,actually the Koleos shares it platform(global C) with the Nissan X-Trail,Rogue and the much raved about Qashqai compact SUV.The Murano is in a different segment altogether.

The Koleos is also sold as the Samsung QM5 in Korea(Koleos is built in collaboration with Samsung,Korea)

There it goes out of the window once again ! I had a faint hope that they may compete against Scorpio and Safari. :Frustrati

Now the Side profile of Samsung QM5 reflects some of Hyundai Tucson / KIA Sportage :D

I think Dacia Duster is the SUV from Renault to come in the Safari/Scorpio territory.
But it was not to be seen in the AutoExpo. Infact when i asked the Renault guy who was showing off the Koleos at the Expo about the Duster, he had not even heard the name :Frustrati

Forget the koleos and laguna, COME ON Renault, give me this cutie anytime!!!
Its love at first sight.:)

Press release:
Renault will unveil its brand-new coupé-roadster - Renault Wind - in a World
Première at the 2010 Geneva Motor Show on 2 March.

Renault Wind is a two-seater coupé-roadster of 3.83 metres in length which features a highly innovative way of opening up. With its novel electric roof that pivots open in just 12 seconds, Renault Wind brings a completely different take on a car for drivers who enjoy open top motoring.
Renault Wind is aimed at motorists who lust after a car that is not only distinctive and compact, but also convertible and practical enough for everyday use.

Although Renault Wind's compact dimensions make it a nimble machine in and about town, it is the only car of its class to provide just as much luggage space (270dm3 VDA) whatever the position of the roof.
True to Renault's brand signature 'Drive the Change', Renault Wind makes passion affordable for everyone.

The ideal car Renault could have bought to India was a hatchback like Renault Clio. If they did that they may have emerged as a volume player in the market.

From my own experience (in Europe), most of the Renault cars are very reliable, give best value for money and are relatively easy to maintain.

Without understanding the market properly they bought some already outdated car (Logan) to Indian market, thinking that India is a third world country, where they can dump all their worn dies.

Now it takes ages to bring back the Renault brand. So its better to build the brand - Nissan than going back to Renault.
