The front end does not look good at all on this SUV. The 2008 Outlander was a looker! Mitsubishi should understand that the new grill does not go with every car they make. It started with the Lancer and now it's seen even on their hatchbacks and SUVs. This grill was best suited to the Lancer.
This car will still not sell in good numbers because it still does not have a diesel engine.

btw has it been officially launched?

Reliable speculative prices suggest that it would be well above 50 laks on the road.

The old Outlander was quite a good looking vehicle, but the CVT was terrible and it needed a little more torque.

Now its a bad looking vehicle with a terrible CVT gearbox and not enough torque.

Another step backwards for Mitsubishi. Now we can wait until they launch the Evo X almost 3 years after its international launch at a price 10L above an Audi A4 3.2FSI.

Same here. The grill has made the SUV look like a hatched egg. The boldness in an SUV has been lost in this design, could have been made better. IMO the grill design can be adopted only on high bonnet SUV's. The older design looks more mean & masculine!

Doesn't work for me at all too! I guess thats a shared opinion across the board so far, the older version was much better!

sidindica : am not impressed with the new front end.
You can say that again. Also, why are the pics so hazy ?

@Sumit - thanks for the pics. Comparing the two versions makes it look like the new Outlander is actually some other make, and the Mitsu Outlander badge added. The previous gen Outlander was far far better.

Mitsu showroom folks here said that the EVO will easily cost 30+, maybe even 35+.

They also categorically said - no plans for the new gen Lancer (grrrrr). Only Cedia - though they have no clue when the Cedia will be made EIV compliant.

Was at JJ Williams showroom on the weekend and came to know about the new Lancer and the mighty Evo, speculative pricing is 18-23L for the Lancer and 40+ for the Evo. But the guy was suspicious of Evo's launch in may'10, he said that would be the time for the new lancer but Evo wont come before Sept.

Doesn't seem right. New Lancer will be in the Civic/Corolla category and probably going to be priced between 12-14 lakhs.

Doea this mean that the older (current) version of the Outlander will be marked down considerably?
Can't wait for that to happen. Any news on that?
