Took delivery of my VXi on the 28th Sept. The new Baleno was already on the lot, and thankfully there are no changes that could have coloured me green with envy! Plus I got about 80k discount and accessories together.

My Vxi came with 5-spoke alloys, look quite chunky, though whether better than the 13-spoke ones is a matter of taste.

Just checked out with the dealer. He is quoting on road, LXI, Rs 6.23L for pre modified version and 6.30L for the updated version. This is ridiculous!!

Wow ! what's the breakup of the cost ?
If the discounts are same then the price diff should be only Rs. 1100.

But I think you should wait. Maruti is yet to come out with any sales schemes for October. They have even removed the sales scheme link from their website. So hold on for a while. I'd expect them to do something about the potential Fiesta threat !

The discount has been reduced. The car is costing around 6.70L, the discount on pre mod is 47K and on the new one it is 40K.
But I am confused again. Should I consider Fiesta as an option?

I thought, with present discounts offered on Ikon, they were making a new entry level slot for Fiesta.

The Fiesta is an competitior to the NHC and the likes.
The Focus is corolla size but is not going to be launched here for some time.
I would advise you to wait and check out the car first and then decide.

My intro and my new Baleno!!

Hi friends.....

I am Ganesh from Bangalore. You may call me Ganz. This is my first post in team-bhp forum although I have been following many of the threads for some days. I am not a car enthusiast like so many of you out here but the whole build-up to buying my new car has made me one. During the research for my car I bumped into this site and found it very good.

I would also like to tell you all that I have taken the delivery of BALENO LXi (Pearl Silver color) last Friday. I would like to thank this forum and all you people for helping me make my decision on this. My close friend P3 insisted very strongly on Baleno. But I was sceptic of Baleno for some reasons.

After going through the rave comments about Baleno here, I decided to take the test drive. And after the test drive, I didn't even care to test any other car. It gave a great feeling to drive the monster. And now I have driven one home and million thanks to my friend P3 and you all.

Joining you all in the Baleno-lovers club

Thanks!!!

saw the new baleno at vaahan yatra ... felt good about my purchase didn't quite like the 11-spoke alloys though. and what is it with MUL? they removed the rear stock speakers for the vxi. they just have the front door speakers now.

a bit off topic here ... rear speakers in the boot? doesn't if affect the sound quality? is it better than having speakers that stick out as in the old baleno?

You're not alone, friend! Baleno's engine has an 'Axe effect'!! I was dating and almost fell for NHC but only till I test drove her... then had a prolonged affair with Optra 1.6 -- hugged, kissed and drove her around town, even came very close to buying an engagement ring -- till a good old friend from Navnit Motors caught me by the scruff, pushed me into a Baleno VXi and ordered "Drive!". Now I'm happily married to the Suzuki family! (er... actually it's bigamy... my first one is with Zen VXi, not yet divorced!)
