Nice scoops, and wonder why is Ford testing (?) it w/o any camou at all! Just stickering the badges is nothing. BTW, do not like the rear :-)

I think they are performing platform testing with a version of the car they have no intent to launch here, hence no usual camouflage.

It will have a poor rear visibility as well because of the thickish pillars and small rear glass area.

That is a BIG car!!! Look at the size of the Indica in the pic. It seems the fiesta hatch will be atleast as large as the i20., possibly even bigger.

It looks exactly similar to the Fiestas I've seen in London a few months ago.

See the picture below:-

Thanks Kiku007---it was by sheer luck that I got both in a single pic---doesn't the older gen Fiesta look like an Ikon from the front?

May be they are doing so for the sedan platform!

The car is indeed nice, had the chance to see the same car at close range.
I noted that the car is Made in Germany and must probably imported, meaning its not assembled here.
One thing I felt is the car's design is such that it drops in the rear seat, I head room is not as good its just like the polo in the rear bench.

I guess the reason for the same is that Ford thinks that anyway people know what they are going to have so there is nothing to hide. Same like how the car keeps going on test run in US without any camouflage.

If you look back at some of the related threads you will see information pertaining to Ford CEO's announcement on intention to launch the new fiesta soon (end of 2010 was the date then). This was some time back when he had visited the Ford Chennai plant - the details of which were printed in ACI. So i dint see any reason why ford should camouflage the test mules. Its well known by now that Ford is working on this.

I completely agree with this statement. Ford is probably using the Fiesta hatch to tune the powertrain & suspension.

BUT a part of me thinks : What if Ford does an i20? That is, a truly international grade premium hatchback, loaded to the brim with equipment, and a good petrol / diesel lineup? Every other manufacturer has woken up to two runaway successes : The Fortuner and the i20. A 7 lakh rupee hatchback may sell for 2 lakhs more than regular 5 lakh'ers, but the difference in cost of production is 15% tops. Think of the profit margins!

Then, there's inherent long-term benefits for the brand. I mean, the i20 is frequently seen sharing garage space with Mercs & BMWs. Did the i20 raise Hyundai's badge value? You betcha!
