Then you just don't register yourself for the lucky draw. It's as simple as that.

What do they mean by an upgrade exactly ??

I think it means buy a Linea at the price of a Punto right ??

Ya something like that.

it states on the site that you pay ex-amt of PUNTO and get a variant of Linea at that price. Its a lucky draw system.

There are model upgrades, car upgrades and other features too.

reading the T & C on the website this is like a lucky dip sort of a thing .. u take ur booking id go to fiat dealer log on to the website upgradeyourfiat.com from his computer ,dealer enters his user name password enters your booking id and then you select a number from a random list and if ur lucky u know it straight away. There 6 car upgrades and 24 variant upgrades as in emotion pays for dynamic and so on .This is what i understand from the site . All who book get insurance + fiat first+ warranty on paying 6000rs. Any clarifications welcome...

Marketing Strategy!

This kind of marketing strategy, brought in by Mr. Lalu Prasad Yadav, Ex. Railway minister first. We could get an automatic up gradation to AC, if you are lucky enough to tick the place allotted for it and also if there is a AC vacancy when final chart is prepared.

FIAT is following the same strategy.

Good Luck Fiat!

Did you notice this..
The Punto 1.2 is now available also in emotion and dynamic variants.

is it an indication that slowly petrol 1.2 has crawled its way up over the 1.4 version due to its better fuel efficiency and lesser price?

Exactly. That's THE thing that caught my eye, even more than the fancy upgrade gimmick. Any news on the forum on the price and feature specs for the 1.2 Dynamic and 1.2 Emotion?

Seriously, this is the first time I am seeing a full page ad from FIAT, I don't think I had missed any of their ads. The wordings in the ad, "You could" says it all that it is gonna be some kinda draw.

It is some kind of a draw. Terms and condition clearly says this-
6 lucky participants will get a car upgrade
24 lucky participants will get a variant upgrade.

What is interesting to me is this part-
Quote:
For 2010 make Fiat Linea or Fiat Punto - 1st year Insurance + Extended Warranty + RSA - for which Selected Participants will have to pay just Rs 8000 or Rs 6000 respectively
For 2009 make Fiat Linea or Fiat Punto - 1st year Insurance + Extended Warranty + RSA Free, which will be absolutely Free for all Selected Participants
Source- Fiat

Does this mean Fiat is selling 2009 made cars at a relative discount? To me it looks like a discount in a modified form for 2009 makes.

Looks like Tata's marketing strategy has rubbed off Fiat. I remember seeing offers of lucky few getting money back on Tata cars. Somewhat similar. Let's see how this affects the sales in February.

is it an indication that, we are clearing of existing Punto / Linea to launch the new versions Tjet and Sports?

It's seem's to be the offers given in the developed countries .I know one offer Hyundai in USA where you buy a hyundai coupe and pay one more dollar to get another one.

so our market is going for serious run!!
