I gave my SKILL TEST today in the 1st SLOT from 1pm-2pm. It was pretty good. In the practice round in the Simulator I had a few accidents, but in the Test time I did pretty good. My Driving test was really testing, drove in a SWIFT and had to parallel in a 1' clearance zone. And I managed it okay.

Congrats Suji!

Don't forget to release the hand brake before you start driving your FIAT.

Just came back from the test.
Had taken it in Bharath Motors, Mangalore. The guys there were really professional and made me feel comfortable.

The test was pretty cool, Had to drive the car out of the parking lot and parallel park between a Dzire and a truck stading in the by-lane.
Then I was taken to the simulator, was given some 3 minutes to practice and get a feel of it. It was ok types, had to hard brake to halt, and the steering was actinga bit wierd. Overall it was good experience.

I'd suggest you people to not waste your time attending this foolish test, this is just a eyewash. The guys in the centre were least bothered to test the driving skills. There was no one inspecting me when i took the so called simulator test.

They were only keen on asking me to bribe them 500 rupees for promoting me to the 3rd round in delhi. They kept on claiming that these are the people who determine the score and if you give 500 rupees you will be awarded maximum points and you could go to Delhi and stay in 3* accommodation etc. etc

He had asked me to decide and come today regarding this. God save India!
There are only two MDS in Chennai. One in Arumbakkam and another in Velachery.
The Arumbakkam branch is run by ABT. I can't imagine foul play by ABT. It should be Velachery MDS. I have scheduled my test in Arumbakkam. If any smell emanates, I'm going to complain to Autocar and ABT management.

Guys you are were lucky to parallel park between 2 vehicles. I was in a SWIFT and had to park in between cones, and you know the rear visibility of SWIFT !!

Given the second round test y'day.
Few minutes of practice round and around 10~15 mins test round in simulator.
The traffic level was set to maximum.
The assessing guy didn't speak a word. Taken notes when I was doing the simulator.
As mentioned by other members, the simulator do not has feel.
No resistance in gear shift or the accelerator. Felt it kind of "dummy".
Brake does not seem to be effective. In the first signal, I crossed the stop line a little because of it.
At one point, the assessing guy asked me to turn right. When I turned on indicator and about to turn, he pointed to the "No right turn" sign board. I did saw that, but I thought he was trying to test driving in one-way or something and tried to turn right. Negative points on that for me.
In the real car, I had to do parallel parking between a car and a tree. Did that. Then did 3-point turn.
While in the car, I was asked about the checking I do in the morning before starting the car. That was all.
The main thing was, being unliucky, all my activities was video covered by AutoCar guy...

my funniest moment was when i banged into the jay walker(obviously due to the shitty brakes)
i couldn't control my laughter at that moment.
the rest of the test was fine.
i don't expect to go further.

And even you were lucky, atleast you gave a parking test. The ones here in Gurgaon were not tested for the parking skills(or any skills at all).
