Neat looking console there.

The speedo tops out at 240kph. Hmm. There is hope for a TSi in the near future.

You missed out Mettalic/Pearl effect paint, body coloured handles and ORVMs, Parcel tray/luggage compartment cover.

Even with these also, should it require 50k extra?

Yeah...
The 50k price difference for 3-4 extra features makes no sense
Which is why they restricted the color choices i guess.
But for someone who likes the Polo in Red, the trendline 1.2 petrol is looking like a super bargain.
Great cabin, superb handling & ride (CNB report) & built like a tank.
All of this at around 5 lakh OTR Pune.
Slurpppp

The Polo prices seem to be very good! Good alternative to the Swift/Ritz/Punto. Only concerns are VW service and spares. Also, i read that the rear legroom and headroom is tight. Being a European car, that comes as no surprise. Even the Punto is tight at the rear. But comparing the Polo Highline with the i20 Asta, then the i20 makes more sense with so many more features than the Polo like
-> Electrically retractable mirrors
-> Auto Climate Control
-> Steering mounted controls
-> 6 airbags and optional Sunroof
-> more powerful engine
-> more space

Waiting eagerly for Team BHP reviews.
@ Dippy, is that the 1.6 in pictures? Speedo till 240!!

no the 1.6 hasnt been launched. all the variants will have the same speedo, though i dont think any of the 1.2s will cross 155 or so.

Should be possible to reach 170 (or maybe more?) depending on the power to weight ratio. Here's a video of a 1.2 Fabia touching 170 on the noida expressway:

+1
Most of us are interested in the back yard of Polo. Would be nice to look at a couple of close ups.

interior looks neat for me. Better than Punto. High time FIAT introduce some better looking interior in new Punto!

All depends on how it drives and A.S.S! Externally only appealing part for me is headlight. Back looks too bland to my taste. Overalll Plane jane looking car for me.

I will wait for Punto Sports rather or to 1.2 TSI

if wishes were horses. But may be we can wish to have 1.6L car to have ACC and airbags at a i20 pricing.

More wish from my side, may be a AT DSG box

Thats an awesome price which VW has done for the Polo. Atleast based on this they should also reduce the price of Jetta. So lets see how they play on the A.S.S part now.

The price of the petrol trendline is really good. Isnt it similarly priced to swift vxi ? For the lack of the rear power windows the buyer gets more space and better build quality.

Thanks for the excellent snaps Dippy!

The car looks very well finished in the pictures. Way ahead of the competition. Add the killer pricing to it and we have a potential winner. Hope they don't catch the skoda A.S.S flu and spoil the party!

Absolutely disappointed...not because they did not launch the 1.6, but coz they refused to confirm if they ever will come out with it. I think its the Indian vs European mindset at work. When i met one of the German marketing guys in Delhi expo, he was bullish that the 1.6 will surely come, while the Indian mktg guys of VW have been on the fence since day one. They think the only way to sell cars to Indians is by giving mileage...sad :(
