These engines are available on European POLO also but they are not that great. WhatCarUK says this about the two 1.2 litre three cylinder engines:

Against - The base models get underpowered and noisy 1.2-litre petrol engines. A Ford Fiesta is much more fun to drive.

Dear TBhpian
I know we have a great deal of information collectively with us. I want to know specifically what are the disadvantages of a 3 pot engine and why it is so? Gurus please help me understand

cheers

P.S :M-800 IMHO is a 3 pot motor.

Insurance is almost double compared to similar priced Swift. VW dealers already trying to rip of customers? Is the handling charges too high as well?
I don't think he gave you a correct quote.
Defnitley the ex-showroom price in cochin won't be the same as in Delhi.
and insurance is based on car value. So it can't be double of an almost similar priced swift.
even the total he has given is not adding up correctly.

3 pots are usually not refined. Another problem is that vibrations from a 3 pot motor are high.

Nice! Check out the optional equipment list! They even have a navigation system! If it's an inbuilt one in the dash it'll be fantastic! And a sports package!

Here is the quote, as per the delaer it is VW insurance, covering bumper to bumper including tyres. Any takes on spending extra 10K on VW insurance?

And Rs 5025 handling for all VW cars common guys this is a different segement than Passat, Jetta and Toureg.

Looks like VW is making more money from insurance rather than selling the car and the dealers has to make their commsion from customers!

Cant we get the insurance done on our own? I have been doing that since my last 2 cars & it has always resulted in good savings for me.

Just went through the Car Configurator link on the VW India site - looks good. This is the same thing that is available on other VW country sites like UK, Germany etc.

I am sure in no time they'll introduce Auto AC and power mirrors in the list of configurable items, considering the i20 has all of these and more at the same price.

After the Jazz and the Polo, the i20 looks like a VFM car considering the number of features it has.

Infractions: 0/2 (8)

if you're doing a trade in with your old car and going for a new one, of course you can have the existing car insurance transferred to the new one.
in this way, you can save considerable money via No Claim Bonus etc + your existing Insurance company will more often than not, wish to retain your custom and offer you a good deal.

Alright, some clarification BHPans.

Volkswagen is not going to come out with a 1.6 Petrol Hatch back, instead -- they will be coming out with 1.6 petrol sedan.

Maybe they are bundling the insurance and additional warranty together.

As a car buyer you have every right to decline that and take an insurance on your own from a different insurance company or agent.

What is the source of your information? The 1.6 hatchback is still listed on the VW India website, and is even present in the car configurator.
