@mustang - Now that there is a excise hike of 2%, what will the new ex-showroom prices look like?

Its only for sedans, SUVs and MUVs. Small cars exempted from this hike.

@Mustang.101 - Any inside info on Figo 1.6S and Figo 1.4 TDCI Auto. IMHO if Ford brings them to the market, they both will be the hottest hatches to own

the fiesta was one of the most driveable cars around and the figo is based on the same platform. How can you claim that the Figo will never match up to the polo.

Such a fanboish comment this. First let the cars reach the market and drive them and then comment.

I guess by 2nd March every manufacturer would come up with new prices. Then only we will get to know the reality.

Today, I got a call from a Ford Dealer in Chennai. He said TD will be available from first week of March. He said that the prices were not announced, but gave me a rough figure.

LXI - Rs. 4,90,000
EXI - Rs. 5,30,000

Also, heard from sources that i know in ford, that the base variant of Petrol is expected to be priced less than 3.5 (ex showroom).
Again, this is what i have heard, it would be great to know how much are they going to price it? Inside sources mentioned that Ford will announce price by 28 March? is that true Mustang??
ps: jus wanted to share the info not to contradict with anyone
You will see that my prices are accurate.

Well we @ ford India had same spec models of polo from europe & the indian figo & had a track test in madras. Figo finished 1.3 secs before the polo on average.

See these on road prices are almost the same as quoted by me. Smart sales guy i guess.

& one more thing, any person who has any doubts on the looks of the figo should go at their nearest showroom to see for themselves that it will be the finest hatch in the country according to looks. That red dash also looks really nice when viewed in person. check it out at your nearest dealer!

One thing is for sure, People may argue about the looks but no one will ever argue that this will be the best driver's hatch in the country. no questions asked!

Colors according to me are:

1. colorado red
2. squeeze
3. sea grey
4. panther black
5. moondust Silver
6. chill

& i request all team-bhpians to not comment on the looks & driveability of the figo unless they experience them in person

This is too basic feature on any car. Even my Matiz (mid model) had it 10 years back. But Figo has manual rolling window (no power window on rear doors) which I don't think has any locking mecanism to prevent a child from opening it.

I don't understand why Figo does not have rear power windows.
One of the reasons we are guessing could be that because the rear windows cannot be fully lowered, there was no need for power windows.

But even Polo's rear windows cannot be lowered fully, yet Comfortline variant and above come with rear power windows.

Strange.

I wasnt aware that even Polos rear windows could not be lowered completely. I think the reasons for Figo are same as discussed/debated heavily in the Figo review thread. The door is such windows could not be lowered completely, hence why spend a few thousands on providing power windows for lowering of only 40-50% of window. Its a good cost cutting measure and I dont see it as a deal breaker. If VW has provided, it will very well reflect in in their pricing.

Maybe Mustang.101 can give us the real reasoning behind the omission of rear power windows or confirm our reasnoning.
