@prasadee: There is no news of an auto-transmission launch as yet.
Wish ford would launch one though, specially for the 1.4TDCi. That is what is required to jump-start auto sales in India - A cheap diesel hatch with auto = ease of driving, good FE, and practical.

@sameer: One would be surprised at how low salesmen can go, and many novice buyers believe the salespeople.

I am really sorry, Its ZXI & not SXI.

You will see the difference will not exceed 30K.

Thanks Mustang. As many pointed out i find the prices of top-end way too optimistic:

juts 30 K for ABS and airbags? I doubt it.

dont expect Figo to outsell Swift. But again - not everything from Maruti is a best seller either. Ritz D is a dud.

Ford is aggressively pushing for additional showrooms+service. lets hope they execute. Maruti was taking things a little too easy, and all these B segment hatches can really make an impact.

At this price, for me its Figo over Swift D any day!

And they have only themselves to blame for that - beginning from Escort. Its not too late, i think apart from pricing they should come with some aggressively prices spares and good maintenance plans.

The princing for the Diesel line up is nice, but, the base petrol is impressive as well. 3.6 is not bad for the Figo.

Pricing of the Figo both petrol and diesel seems to be killer.

But i wanna ask everybody where does this leave the Ikon(P/D) and Fiesta to some extent?I am sure quite of lot of customers going to ford showroom to inquire about the fiesta or the ikon may end up booking the Figo Titanium with extra fittings if the boot isnt really necessary.

Shouldn't Ford use this opportunity to bring in the 1.6 Tdci and 1.6 Zetec for the Fiesta and somehow make the fiesta more tempting offer?
Otherwise there will be a huge waiting list for figo.

Great pricing for the diesel Figo!.
This will definitely pull out some Maruti customers who are planning for a diesel.
1.4TDCi is really nice engine and it is a proven one.

In case of petrol, there is not much of a punch.

Figo pricing is expected to be lower than that was mentioned by Mustang, coz when i was in the showroom the sales person mentioned the OTR price for Diesel Fully loaded around 5.6 to 5.7.
Also, heard from sources that i know in ford, that the base variant of Petrol is expected to be priced less than 3.5 (ex showroom).
Again, this is what i have heard, it would be great to know how much are they going to price it? Inside sources mentioned that Ford will announce price by 28 March? is that true Mustang??
ps: jus wanted to share the info not to contradict with anyone

Very good pricing- however its not only that factor which makes a success. Ford has to make a big improvement in its image of costly spares/maintenance package and also after sales support. The bottom line numbers will tell the real story finally, did not see anything challenge the swift diesel so far and wish that there will be a great choice for the end user, hope this is the answer. Though GTO has given a thumbs up to the car itself, i think there are other factors mentioned that need to be seen as to how the end user takes them when making a buying decision

Ford already have the warranty/extra warranty programme, and with this support the maintanance is not going to be expensive as many anticipating.
The pricing as given above is going to be the final one, then really it is VFM and definitely going to be a tough competition in the hatchback segment!

Though this is a seems to be a good package but I feel the high end misses the rear power window which most of them expect from a high end car.
Ford please include rear power windows to inch forward in features which will give you great difference in competition .

Mods: please merge this thread with Figo Spec scoop thread, which would be more consolidate thread for Figo scoop.

where does this leave the FIESTA DIESEL ? with a decent boot and the same engine, the FIGO will cannibalise the FIESTA.

if Ford is making more money on the FIGO, they i guess they should be fine with that
