Dont we already have a big thread discussing the same?
http://www.team-bhp.com/forum/indian...pg-6-a-12.html

In fact, ford insiders like mustang had confirmed some time back itself, that we will be getting the new fiesta. I also spotted the hatch near Velachery, Chennai. Looks direct competition to Jazz and i20 IMO.

There can another angle to it as well. You have a choice between iKON and the Figo for that price category.
I though agree its Apple to Orange comparison. But it kind of makes sense.

At least what I think is the following:
Ford stops IKON as there is Figo to be promoted.
Fiesta rolls down a little bit and then you have new version this year.
But then based Mustang's comments in another post, one should not expect, current Fiesta to come down to IKON levels.
A little bit lower in price and the new Fiesta ushers in with a higher price tag (In the league of city?).

And there is the Fiesta hatch, which is also is being talked about.

The new Fiesta hatch in my guess should be priced around Jazz levels, maybe slightly less.

A 1.6 engine? (drool!) Somehow all my plans of buying a Swift go to the back burner!

Now, if only we had some idea when it will be launched.

Mustang, is it possible to reveal the possible launch month?

I think Mustang mentioned the new sedan to roll in the second quarter 2011.
The hatch may not roll in at all.

I think Mustang mentioned otherwise. Hatch is coming next year Q1 or max Q2 and the sedan might not come for now because the current fiesta is selling well.

Ford only does 'Limited Editions' ad nauseam

They took too much time to launch Fiesta after Ikon, and the follower to Fiesta is not seen after 4.5 years!!!

Nothing gets the market interested like new launches - Every new launch brings across new customers - There was so much excitement with launches like i20, Beat, Ritz etc. There is line up for booking new models, press coverage etc.

What does Ford do? Another limited edition - iPod support, new alloys, new colors etc.

I think Ford should give up the idea of making India specific models and get their International lineup quick and price the cars sensibly (which I think they do now, considering their Figo pricing)

PS:- This comes from a Ford Ikon 1.6 Nxt owner - Ford makes some of the most affordable 'pleasure to drive' cars. I want them to do more!
They launched the figo didn't they! they will also launch the fiesta too! these things take time. they have to set up the manufacturing plant too don't they!
