To Mods : why is official review for Pajero Sports not coming? Some of us have been waiting since launch.

For Eg: The base model of Pajero Sport (2.5 Petrol version) cost THB 915,000 (INR 1,614,000). Whereas the Fortuner base model costs THB 1,400,000 (INR 2,470,000). I think Mitsubishi must get the pricing right for the Pajero, otherwise it is bound to loose out to Fortuner. Given the fact that Toyota spares and service is more reliable and value for money than Mitsubishi. I don't know why Mitsubishi has adopted a 'Step-son' policy for India, everything they launch here is outdated and way overpriced.

Wake up Mitsubishi!!
You are wrongly comparing PS petrol version to T-fort diesel version. You should look at PS diesel version 4WD 2.5 VGT GT / 5AT which sells at THB 1,334,000 ( source Mitsubishi Motors) and also note that all 4X4 diesel PS/fortuners in Thailand are AT and we have only MT in India.
This difference will be close to Rs 1.2 lacs or so which is not that steep as PS is CBU currently in India. I hope once they start CKD for PS they can bring down the cost by 1 lac or so and bridge the gap.

Any news on when the CKD version is likely to be launched.
Are they planning to upgrade the interiors and the engine versions?

Spotted a Pajero Sports with these alloys and tyres.
Do you guys like what you are seeing?
I think the stock setup looks better.

Zigwheels have reviewed the Mitsubishi Pajero Sport, & here is their review report:

Mitsubishi Pajero Sport : First Drive Page - 1| ZigWheels.com

The vehicles, as per them, is a worthy competitor to the Fortuner (but, for that turbo lag which can be bothersome in the city), & interestingly sell more than the latter in Philippines.

Yes, the Sport sells more than the Fortuner in a couple of other SE Asian markets as well. While overall the Fortuner outsells the Sport by a huge margin including in overlanding/ offroading-focused markets such as S. Africa.

The Pajero - Dakar association is overhyped and milked too much. Pajero has had success in the T1 category - heavily modded category. FYI, even a Mini has had success in the T1 category

Toyota has ruled the T2 category - stock vehicles. What we use everyday.

re: New Mitsubishi Pajero Sport! *UPDATE* Price reduced to 22.56 Lakh!

Mitsubishi announces a reduced price of Rs. 22.56 Lakhs (ex-showroom New Delhi). The Pajero Sport officially rolls out of the assembly line from its plant in Tiruvallur.

The price comes following the local production of the Pajero Sport model at the Hindustan Motors plant in Tiruvallur near Chennai. Pajero Sport was earlier priced at Rs. 24.43 Lakhs (ex-showroom New Delhi).

Currently, components like the tyre, battery, window glass, seat belts, lamps, wiper assembly, alloy wheels & headlining are localized. The localization ratio is about 14%, but will go up to 30% by the next fiscal year.

Good going, Mitsubishi.
Hope they bring down the cost of spares for all their cars which are being hiked up every year.
I also hope that the ultimate SUV (read: Montero) becomes more affordable in the next few years.

Excellent news! So the mighty T-Fort has to fight till it's last breath (or breadth & height) to save it self from the lord of the Jungle (pajero) and and the new Korean on the block (Rexton).

I just wish if the Defender was more affordable!

But Compared to Rexton still expensive. Apart from the Super Select 4WD, the price difference between Auto Rexton is around Rs.2.5 Lakhs and for the Manual the gap widens further to around 4.5 Lakhs. The Rexton has more Kit.

re: New Mitsubishi Pajero Sport! *UPDATE* Price reduced to 22.56 Lakh!

I think one should picture oneself in the mind....what would you rather be seen in - a Pajero or a Rexton ? Can't say much about Mitsu's A*S*S, but Mahindra's is reeling under the onslaught of the XUVs and Thars and the other regular service vehicles. And if one has to go offroad, better to do so in the known (and heard of) Pajerosport than the unknown Rexton. With so many electrical gizmos, the last thing I would want is getting stuck in the countryside with a failed electrical device (especially the sunroof). Just my two pence.
