March generally is one of the BEST month for car sales, simply because of the 'Depreciation' benefits to be availed for the current financial year.

Yes, As per IT norms, one can take 16% depreciation for one year or 8% if it is less than 6 months...

So any company can get 8% depreciation right away.

If Honda dont repackage and sell for 5.5L we can write an obituary for this car soon.
Honda,

There is only One Life, why so serious ? bring it down to 5.5L .

Sad to see good cars flops due to the pricing only pricing.

They can't do it at the moment as its localisation content is still under 30-40%. If they can increase it to 80% then I am sure it will start just below the 6 lacs. At that price it would be a good option. I don't put this car as a small car as it is quite big. 6L is still premium for aam janta but if ANHC can be a huge blockbuster at premium prices I am sure it will also be.

Guess the market has proved to Honda that you can't just sell with the H badge and an atrocious price tag atleast in the hatch segment. Maybe they were trying to replicate the success they had with the City in the premium hatch segment and they shot themselves in the foot. Take a bow market forces !

Maybe asking too much, even if its 7lakhs ON ROAD in Bangalore, sales will triple from current numbers and i20 will get killed. I dare say that even 20K more will not matter but HAS to be less than 8 lacs for sure and around 7-7.5 will attract much more buyers.
With the top end polo going to be around 7 lacs , vv few will look beyond this number for a premium hatch. For 5.5 be assured its a top seller but getting it to 5.5 is going to take a miracle

the polo is still over priced

The gap between an Alto and second car has always been phenomenal. Wonder if any car will be introduced that can beat or match the winner's numbers.

Btw, what about the other sedan's figures? Verna, ANHC, Linea etc

How come the Ritz is missing from that list. The WagonR is doing hugely impressive mumbers for a 10 year old model. Just compare the equally old Santro and the difference is glaring. It's ageing very well. Almost up there with the i10 for which again the figures needs to be split between the 1.1 and 1.2 for a proper comparison. Looks like not many are aware that a WagonR upgrade is in the pipeline. As for the Alto, it will continue to be alone at the top in the forseeable future, unless they mess with the pricing when Euro IV comes up. The Swift, time and again proving to be a chart topper, exceeding the combined sales of the Indica and Vista. The Dzire again taking the cake there, beating the combined sales of the Indigo,CS and Manza. Manza has everything to make it a winner. The Tatas have done their homework on this one. Hope it takes the top slot sooner than later.

Could you post the link. For Nano and Beat both do not look correct numbers. Infact this seems more like a January 2010 sales number.

Also the Estilo is missing from the list above which seems a car with completely new life and seemingly doing 4K to 5K numbers much more than its last year average of 1.5K to 2K.

I didn't say these are the top sellers. First 10 are top 10s, the remaining I calculated depending on the combined sales posted earlier. So, don't worry. I20, Ritz, Estilo all have higher numbers than the least number given here!
