The Fiat will be discussed as hot only in forums like these where u have motoring enthusiasts...I see Tata Safaris only in Team bhp.

Manza may sell in some numbers, I ve seen quite a few Maza taxis around...
Aria will haveve no effect on Indian market as it overpriced for a TATA.. Saw those disgusting storage spaces in the roof.. What ll happen when they start to rattle together..? You wont need an ICE !!!

Beat has the potential, but not many are satisfied with its looks, like some one has given steroids on the facial muscles, like the Dzire with steroid in the butt..
Somehow there will be takers, like Jermey Clarkson commented on alfa 8c. Every beautiful car has some strange proportions about it.

Yeah sure. its the real estate sector guys who pretend to make losses and still make the maximum profits. Its like this now, customer perceives housing as increasingly unaffordable and Cars increasingly affordable due to good competitions between the players. compare the housing prices from 1995 to 2010.In 1995 Probably a 2 BHK house would have fetched 2-4 lakhs in NCR while a maruti zen would roughly fetch the same amount. in 2010 whereas car prices have increased only nominally, the Housing prices must have gone up by atleast 1000%.

In any case its apple vs oranges comparison. One is investment (Pereceived) while other is consumption.

I am sure you must know that these numbers are reported to the exchanges and any wrong/foul play when reporting these numbers to the exchanges can lead to serious penalty and even hefty fines, and in extreme cases SEBI can even prohibit trading in these stocks. I highly doubt that these car co's will bear that kind of risk to report inflated monthly numbers.
While housing stats are showing a marginal pick up. Fundamentally the Auto industry is the first to turn around when it comes to an economy turning around from a slowdown/reccession.
Infra and Housing(realty) usually are mid cycle sectors and will need some sustaining of this growth(GDP currently proj to grow at close to 9%) before you see traction there. I am not surprised by these numbers at all.It is the famous Indian consumption story at play.

I am guessing that the March numbers will show a severe plunge after the hike in excise duty. Also the record Jan and Feb 2010 numbers were probably due to some early buying decisions trying to beat the expected withdrawal of fiscal stimulus from 2009. In states like AP, this hike will be much more pronounced because the state govt hiked the lifetime tax from 9 to 12% starting Feb 1st 2010.

If there are indeed lower numbers over the newxt few months, due to higher taxes and due to competition from new entries by VW, Ford, Nissan; I want to see the effect on Maruti pricing.

Atleast the FEb numbers will be really high. Another reason for Jan numbers to be high is a spill over effect, lots of people bought ahead of the budget-

I think the Feb analysis should be plain jane. Indian economy might not be going great guns but the mass sentiment is ! It's been a record month for the big players and a stalemate for the smaller ones and no one seem to have collapsed. Maruti continues to set the sales benchmark, Hyundai's couple of products are killers, Tata is breathing strong and healthy again, Fiat continues to survive, GM seems to have come out of the red in India atleast.....it's good news across the board folks ! The problem is will we be left with any roads with such staggering sales. The kinda road rage that we witness if we scrape against vehicles, i think we will all head to the streets with hypertension pills in a few years. Watching...waiting.....wishing for the best !

While cruze numbers are impressive, it is still behind corolla by over 100 units. Wonder where civic is, possible <500?

Thats great for ANHC. But i dont know what Honda is waiting for Jazz.

Its high time for Handa to repackage Jazz, and look at the competition coming in next few months. POLO, Figo, Beat and more by end of the year.

If Honda dont repackage and sell for 5.5L we can write an obituary for this car soon.
