A3 segment defies logic.

A3 segment defies logic. Manza is selling in good numbers(7,373). With these numbers it is expected to impact Dzire. But instead Dzire's numbers have actually increased. Are they grabing customers from other segments? Does not look like that. So how does one explain these numbers for A3 segment. I have never seen a segment double it's size with addition of one product.

Manza is not 7373. It includes Indigo cs and Indigo Marina as well. Indigo cs would be atleast 3-4K. In my estimate Manza will not be more than 4K. Dzire is seeing unprecedented numbers. Assuming Sx4 is 1.5 K, Dzire is close to 9K. Outstanding

I think honda should bring a stripped EMT version of Jazz to relevant. otherwise jazz is a bigtime flop. with more competition, it will go into oblivion.

I think cs won't be more than 2000-2500. CS was selling around 3000 when manza was released. So I am sure it won't be more than 3000 as atleast some sales will convert to manza. It would help if tata provides sales numbers for both.

Good to see that Cruze sale is getting stabilized and launch of Auto might increase the sale.GM needs to launch a petrol variant soon to become a market leader in this segment. Toyota needs a diesel for sure!

When compared to Tatas 58%, Maruti 48%, M&M's percentage growth is less

Think of this, you are up for a Dzire, the waiting period puts you off. Looking around, saw the lookwise-angel-compared-to-Dzire Manza. Signs cheque. Dzire, not loosing customers today, but loosing eventual customers.

Not only mahindra's growth is small as compared to Tata Hyundai Maruti and GM but also Mahindra happens to be only major player having lower sales than the previous month, read this.

"Mahindra & Mahindra, the top utility vehicle maker, clocked 18,280 units in February, notching a growth of 19 per cent over last February's number.
However, this represents a 10 per cent drop from the peak January sales of 23,000. "

what to say about honda, ANHC sells more than 5K and no other car is above 1000 mark. It has become just one car wonder company that is "City"

I agree percentage wise Mahindra's growth is slow, but most of their models (especially Bolero, Scorpio and Xylo)compete in a different segment than the bread winners of TATA and Maruti.

So, I think Mahindra's growth is still respectable and since they sell more vehicles in the 6L-10L price band the margins should be higher too.

Indigo CS is also being bought in good numbers by the taxi market, and seems to be getting really popular with them!

Would have been good if the companies released modelwise break-up instead!

Jazz is already a stripped version, at that price! Just compare it to the cheaper i20. They need a reduction in price, not a newer basic model!

Hot hatch?

Punto, with its current engine options is defenitly no hot hatch! The only contenders for that title were Palio 1.6, Getz CRDi and may be, the Polo 1.6 when it gets launched!

one of my managers got Jazz last Friday after total disappointments from Punto and then Polo. Punto for cheap interior plastic and Polo for engine.

below are his quotes regarding sales of Honda in Dakshin Honda Bangalore.

Quote:
Dakshin Honda is able to sell just 6 Jazz last month and 12 Civic, 2 Accord, 3 month’s waiting period for CRV. So City is their bread and butter.
Now i am confused as to why people wait 3 months for CRV
