This is exactly what i've been saying all along.
These people who own or intend to buy an 800/Alto are the target segment for A segment car-makers. i.e people who migrated from 2 wheeler to an entry level car.

This segment of people are the ones who should be naturally excited about Nano. But they aren't. It is the C-segment and above owners who are praising the Nano.

CD 100 was inspired by Maruti 800. It was built on the same philosophy as the 800 and succeeded. i.e build a vehicle which costs half of the cheapest one available in the market and offer double the FE.

Even Nano was intended to be built on the same philosophy.
That is why we had the 1Lakh price tag and intended mileage of 32kpl.
But what we have today is a car which costs 60-90% more than the intended price and FE which is just 2kms more than a 800/Alto.
That is one of the main reasons why nano will never be as successfull as 800 or CD100 was.
