With the launch date so near, I'm surprised that Maruti is still advertising the old W-R

Some unconfirmed sources at Maruti are calling it Wagon K , probably because of the Kappa series engine.

Wagon-K, that just sounds stupid.

The new vehicle is going to be called the Wagon R itself. Check the chrome beading above the number plate. Also it comes with Suzuki's K-series engine which has no relation whatsoever with Hyundai's Kappa engine.

I intended to write K-series engine. In the first few pics i could not clearly read out whether it was R or K in the end, hence accepted the statement from those sources.
Anyways Wagon R and Wagon K would sound equally unacceptable to a person who hasnt heard of the name Wagon R earlier on.

Last edited by .Albatross. : 18th April 2010 at 15:12. Reason: The quote wasnt proper. I am learning the steps

For reasons good or bad, WagonR has become a well-known name for Maruti Suzuki, and is one of their best sellers. They wont experiment with the name, IMO!

Yes I think so too. In my recent visit to England, I found a few Suzuki WagonRs. During my last visit in 2003, they were branded as Vauxhall Agila, but it looks like they've restored the original name in the recent past.

Re: Pics from the showroom.

The car was still in the workshop. I didn't quite like the "rounded" front. Something between a Ritz and a Wagon R and an Estilo. I think the Wagon R has lost some of its character there. Hate or like it, the sharp looking front gave some character to this car earlier.

I like the rear wiper, which is a boon for people where it rains like the way it does here in Siliguri and the North East.

And I sure do like the extra space, extra long, extra big.

The stickers are there because it is a demo/test drive car.
