It looks somewhat BIGGER than the old WagonR, specially that interior shot!

VXi gets integrated audio. I hope ABS is standard, and not optional as before. The interiors look much better, hopefully the fit and finish will be better as well? In all- looks like a decent upgrade!

EDIT: Is it confirmed that engine is from A-star? That could be the fly in the soup or whatever!

It looks much like a small SUV to me. Looks like small SUMO grande from certain angles

My sister is booking it tomorrow, she has seen the car yesterday and liked it.
This would be the 3rd WagonR in our family. Thoug mine will make way for a punto/2011 swift in another 6-10 months.

this one is definitely one step ahead of the outgoing model. Both the space & looks have improved a lot .

Though the 1 litre K series engine may be smaller in displacement, it produced 68 odd bhp, implying that the car won't be slower or weaker.

No doubt another sales topper from Suzuki.

Wagon R was never been my favorite, but I think outgoing model looks much better than this one. As someone mentioned box WagonR has its own character.

New interior looks very refreshing.

This one is going to be absolutely great in sales and the structure also looks nice.

The interiors are specially good and better than the older version.

any idea about airbags and ABS in its VXi version

Hope Maruti fills the customer demand and there will be no waiting period for which maruti is known for

I am eagerly waiting for an all comprehensive GTO-Team-Bhp Review; Since i am planning to gift one of the VFM hatches from the market for my parents.

Also any idea on the colours available? As far as the spy pics go; white; light blue; grey ; black are confirmed. The existing maroon red on the old wagonR looks good.

290 crores on this new Wagon R ???

Great Scoop sid.

As per Maruti guys "They had invested Rs 290 crore in upgrading its hatchback WagonR that will be rolled out from a new platform with a new engine by end of this month." as per the news link Maruti to relaunch Alto with new engine; to price it up to Rs 2 lakhs-Automobiles-Auto-News By Industry-News-The Economic Times

What i dont get is that the pictures show nothing of putting in 290 crores
as it looks pretty similar to the outgoing one apart from a few nicks here and there, but the pic in the Carwale link below which has been launched in japan may look like a decent work from maruti in bringing in a fresh new WagonR

^^
There is no comparison in term of space with any "VFM" hatches available in India.

When it comes to elderly, space matters!!!

The vehicle looks much bigger than the current WagonR from the pictures. Bigger in the sense its longer, wider and taller. So expect loads of room inside. Just hope its wide enough for 3 people at the back. It got good road presence for its segment. The i10 pales in comparison.

I'm not too sure regarding the boot space though. From the pictures it seems to be smaller, but we actually need to see it to get the facts right. The dash looks really upmarket for the segment. Just love that instrument console.

Looks like Maruti have got a winner on their hands. Just hope they don't mess with the pricing.

SCH, i had read it, but it still looks a steep price for saying 290 crores of investment
