Great move by Tata. Safety at an excellent price point.

I hope you said that in jest. Fact remains that the Swift took safety features mainstream (the Palio GTX SP had it before that but didn't sell much) in India way back in 2005 and Maruti needs to be lauded for that move.

As per this page from South African Vista 1.4 Safire brochure, it has a 4 spoke steering wheel with airbags and audio controls.

Launched!

There is a full page ad in TOI today announcing the launch.
The price points mentioned are tempting.
Folks out there that had to look at other hatch backs in case of their desire to be safe can now consider the Vista - all the plus points of before with safety features!

todays paper carries the ad Windride.
I d like to commend Tata for making safety features accessible and within the reach of the car buyers who operate on a reasonable price budget.
Time for other Indian manufacturers and the big international players as well to learn about cost engineering!

TATA folks haven't bothered to update their site with this important development!!!
No wonder vistas don't sell much compared to the less-VFM competitors.

I don't think all versions have it. Only the Aura+ has it.

I have a feeling that the Vista QJD just became a bit more difficult to beat.

Wanted to clarify a few things:
* Does Vista come with a 3 year/1,00,000 km service in India as well
* What is Blue 5 technology? is it the same as Blue n Me technology in Fiat Cars? i tried looking it up the net but wasnt able to get an explanation.

Here is the brochure of new Indica Vista Aura ABS & Aura+:
The main differences are:
  1. Four Spoke Steering for Aura+ and regular three spoke for all other versions
  2. Key Hole Illumination Ring
  3. No audio controls on steering wheel

Now only if they could offer power adjustment for the ORVMs. Steering adjustment, height adjustable driver's seat, Bluetooth, rear wiper, ABS, airbags, everything- and freedom to choose alloys of your preference. Good price points, proven engine, and cheap service. What more, it doesn't come with a standard 2 month waiting period and that pointless sunroof a la i20 which gives me scares about getting crushed by something falling through. I think I shall be one of the very first customers for this one.

TATA must consider giving Vista Aura ABS & Aura+ variants the following functional features to make it a complete appealing modern car :
1) Electric ORVMs,
2) Steering Mount Controls.
3) 90BHP VGT Manza engine
4) All Door map pockets in Vista should be modified to hold 1liter water bottles.
5) Console box between front seats
6) Finally 5 speed Automatic Transmission at 40-50K extra
7) Greater QC on Fit and finish, quality of plastics, Quality of after sales Services.

I wish TATA's Vista Aura+ A/T will be launched soon. Tata understands Indian needs well.
Only TATA can make it a reality at a possible price point of below 6 lakhs.

TATA needs to develop an Automatic transmission for its Vista/Manza range. Automatic Transmision along with good QC on their cars , which will Transform/ positively revolutionize TATA's brand perception in a very BIG way in short time.

@WhiteKnight, I think there is no Indica Vista Aura Plus ABS, there are two variants - the Indica Vista Aura ABS and the Indica Vista Aura+. It would actually be Tata Indica Vista Safire/Quadrajet Aura+/ABS....
