Ford will be displaying the new Fiesta in Delhi in mid-Feb (sorry can't tell exactly when and where - my cousin will get in trouble). So the launch is definitely near as Ford is looking to build up hype starting that time..

Thats interesting news, who is coming this time to open the model, last time for Figo we had Alan Mulally coming, dont think he wil be coming down for every launch.

Great news reppy. I hope Ford gets its pricing right. I hope the new Fiesta comes with a 1.6 TDCi as Ford plans to retain the current Fiesta, hopefully with its 1.4 TDCi.

It is nice to see so many new cars in the C+ segment.

It is a very good news for the people looking to buy a mid-size Sedan. Atleast for me, I will get a choice to choose between 1.6 TDCi Fiesta or 1.4/1.6 CRDI Verna RB.

Even current Verna is a diesel rocket but if new Verna RB can offer the stability of Fiesta or if Fiesta comes up with Verna sort of power, who do people will choose.

This is indeed a good news! Do we get to know the specs / features / price after this?

But if Hyundai launches RB later, they will get to study the Ford product and might price it closer. Or are these going to be placed in two different segments?

After having driven both Ford and Hyundai for a while, if its driving pleasure that I am looking at, its Ford with eyes closed. Hyundai still has ways to go to match Ford on handling and ride. I hope they are close with the new Verna RB.

You are right. Figo seems to have given Ford that luxury.

I can think of another reason. They may be planning on launching the same engine options for both the hatch and the sedan version. If they launch the hatch first and sedan later, they may fear the sentiment of 'big car-but the same small car engine'. They dont want to build that kind of attitude which may affect their sedan sales and customers looking elsewhere.

Wonder whether the relatively cramped interiors of new fiesta would be deal breaker? Expect the RB to have vastly improved handling though.Think the india spec fiesta will retain EPS? Some reviewers abroad have mentioned its non fordish feel.

I just got back from the auto show at DC Convention Center. I must say my mind is beset with information overload, after spending 7 hours and seeing such a myriad range of cars from several manufacturers.

I was pleasantly surprised to see the Fiesta hatchback and sedan on display there. It looks like Ford is introducing this car in its mother country.

Here are a few pics of the Fiesta and Focus. I must say that the new Fiesta has pretty good interiors, though the only negatives i could spot on the sedan are the not-so-good rear looks and the minimalistic increase of leg room at the rear.
