Probably much before the new Verna gets launched in the hope of catching some early birds.
What he meant would have been just the reveal, you see now a days there is lot of gap between the launch/ reveal and the actual sales to start. Worst, people launch the car, ask people to book and even wont reveal the prices.
I was a fan of Ford when they did not go that route in the Figo launch, as they announced the price and then started the booking. Hope its the same this time around for the Fiesta and even Hyundai dont think they will go that way.

I think there is lot more of competition to Dzire. The Sedan from the pictures looks bad. Clearly this looks like a boot job to a hatch.

Also I see a lot of similarities with the new Verna in terms of looks.

Is an Automatic variant planned for either the sedan or the hatch? Ford has been missing an Automatic for most of the models presently in the market. It would be a great to have one in the armoury.

It is a dual clutch, that you guys already know. There are no paddle shifts, that you guys maybe knowing and the very same model of the transmission is also used in another car in the UK which is the Renault Megane, that you guys probably did not know.
Mustang has already mentioned earlier that the sedan will have an automatic version in the top end model

How i wish ford launches both the sedan and the hatchback simultaneously.
May be they could have discontinued with the present gen fiesta and incorporated the hatch in that price band. Just my opinion.

Now with the fiesta classic being retained and figo going strong , there is no room for the hatch version for a year or 2.

In every country where the Fiesta hatch and the Fiesta sedan have been launched, the hatch is actually more expensive than the sedan.

It is more difficult and tedious to design a hatch in comparison to designing a sedan.

For the fiesta, the hatch was more difficult and more costly to design than the sedan.

For other cars, the hatch is definitely more tedious to design but i don't know about the cost issue.

.
I am sure this wont happen in India. But going by your last couple of posts, it seems the hatch wont come cheap. I was expecting it to be priced on the lines of i20. Are there any chances of it squeezing into jazz territory ?
Here i am talking with regard to mid/top variant.

It will be a similar case of Honda City v/s Jazz. In other markets 1.5 Jazz is slightly expensive than 1.5 City. And seeing what is happening with Jazz 1.2 in the Indian market, Ford will be extra careful in positioning the hatch.

Darn, I'd have loved to see either engine being slightly above 1600 cc, so that I qualify for tax-free fuel of Rs 2400 per month instead of 1800 per month.

That is the way the Income Tax rules are currently set---I wonder what car they had in mind when they arrived at that cut-off figure of 1600 cc

Sorry for going OT

I hope they come up with a version with has all the safety features as standard in the hatch. they can then have higher end versions for all the other bells and whistles. Would it not be so much better if this was followed by all manufacturers?

I hope this hatch does not go the Jazz way. We have already seen a very practical car lose out thanks to its insane pricing.
Fiesta is a killer hatch. For once we have got a great looking car with the right engine spec. If they price it right, it can even beat the Figo success.
