re: New Ford Fiesta Unveiled : Report & Pics - Page 120

Some more pictures of the much debated about backside.

And an interior pic:

SOURCE - Zigwheels (LINK)

The back doesnt look all that bad as most people seem to think & looks quite proportionate. Doesnt look like an addon either. And i think once you get a little used to it, the smallish rear lights dont look that bad either.

Am also posting a picture of those lovely front seats below, taken from the link provided above from IndianAutoBlog (LINK) of the show car.
Caption -
Reinforced side bolsters and the extended under-thigh support for front seats is exciting

@Xehaust : This is the Thai spec car with 14" wheels, India will get the 15" wheels.

A lower positioning of the tail lamps would have filled up that empty space quite nicely, but at the cost of looking conservative.

Just look at that steering wheel...SSSSWEEEET!!! OTOH, the plastic door opening handle looks to have been picked up from a 90's car...expect to break a few. And with that huge handle on the armrest, where does the hand rest on a long drive?

@xehaust---thanks for posting those pics. The rear does not look that awkward, but I wish Ford had given 2 reversing lights, like in the current Fiesta. Even the New Verna has them.

@Deltawing---I agree that the door opening levers look cheap. At least they should have used the ones in the current Fiesta.

And one thing I'll surely miss is the space for 1 litre bottles on the front doors.

Everything else looks good to me.

I found the steering wheel more chunkier and better than my current fiesta. Why did i not wait for a year?

The plastic door opening handle will not break that easily. It is quite strong, In fact it has a metal thing underneath the plastic. So basically it is a plastic coated metal.

The hand rest works like this. You have to insert your palm behind the 'L' shape thing that you notice, while relaxing your forearm on the flat surface. It is similar to the current fiesta.

The Ford Fiesta India ad:
They don't need to spend anything at all
A 30 second display of this car doing its duty in Corsica. This should do it.

I too wish that the door handles had been made of brushed aluminium finish metal, rather than plastic. The Fiesta in the below picture, which was actually the first picture in this thread had these, along with the plum coloured interiors. I wonder why it din't make it to the Indian production version though

Hmm again, glad you pointed that out Arun, I didn't notice that.

Mustang, please shed some light on this?

Oh dear dear me, Mustang buddy, now why did you go and say that?

Now I am getting to feel the same way!

I passionately love my 'S' (and my beloved 2004 Ikon 1.6 as well), but this new Fiesta has me drooling and waking up from dreams of owning one!

Since I don't have any rich old aunts or uncles who could leave me a fortune, and since I work for Unca Scrooge, fat chance of my being able to afford the 2011 Fiesta for some years to come!

1. The S version is the Thai top end version and is not exactly a S version as it has more or less the same specs as the variant below it. The S there is more or less a "dikhava".

2. The thing with me is that i do not have the S version of the fiesta, I have the ZXi and that is why i feel sad. Had i bought the aquarious blue S version, I would not have felt bad but when i was buying my car, the blue color had been discontinued.

Watched a few reviews of the euro spec car, that handle is rated flimsy by each and every one of them...plastic coated metal? Here we have companies trying to disguise plastic with metallic paint and you say Ford is trying to make metal look like plastic? We'll love the car for its merits man, but can't be blind to the obvious or we'll start having more funny comparos of the Fiesta with a Lambo on youtube with a dumb actress telling you that the Fiesta turning radius is shorter so it's better than the Lambo. It's really there, watch it for yourselves.

Are you sure you saw the door handle of the new fiesta, because as i know, the door handle of the previous fiesta hatch was rated as flimsy. Do post a link of where you saw it.
