I spoke to a friend in MPL Ford. He said that they expect it to be launched in early 2011, but training is yet to start. About Engine options he was not sure as there were different "stories" of engine options he has been hearing; 1.6 L, 1.8L and 2.0L Diesel and Petrol.

OT: MPL is building a new service centre in Pallikaranai (next to Lanson Toyota) and is expected to ease the pressure on the service centres.

True. Engine specifications are still a mystery, especially the diesel version. By the way, any concrete confirmation about the launch of hatch? Initially it was said only the sedan was stated for Q1 2011, and later heard the hatch is going to be launched first. Im so hoping for the launch of the hatch with a powerful diesel compared to the sedan.

Going through the thread, i deduced that the Ikon maybe phased out with the Fiesta taking it's place,and the new Fiesta sedan/hatch fighting in i20/City territory.
But what about naming?
Is Ford India going to do what they do always,like India specific branding,or keeping with international hierarchy,give the original name? Cause they cant change the present Fiesta name overnight ,nor change the new Fiesta name. Maybe may add some suffix like vista,manza etc.

I have booked an etios vx which say delivery by february end or march as i booked the day prices were announced.
If prices of ford are good il cancel my etios and get a new fiesta.

This is indeed the Fiesta we have here on Singapore roads for the past one year or so. Unless Ford has some alternate plans of re-badging

I can wait/ consider if the launch is till mid March. If I know it is not planned till Q2, I wouldnt bother, hence the question on any inside news. Knowing the manufacturers they wont say word till a couple of days before the launch.

Ford needs to do something for its interiors. They dont seem that great. Agreed, engines and driveability are great, but some thing needs to be done to the interriors too.

Even car and bike show, which was aired some time back claimed the same.
