Figo launch in chennai was actually a global launch. Hence Alan Mulally was present. But fiesta is already launched globally. I dont expect to see him here.

Seen some reviews videos (through Youtube) of new Fiesta (euro spec). The only complaint was the rear legroom space. Every one was praising for its ride quality. The sedan looks better than the hatchback. I don’t like the rear design of hatchback version.

Met a Ford, Chennai employee at 3M Sri Balaji Agencies on saturday who had come to tint his Figo.

Was casually cheking with him on the new Fiesta and he said
1. Diesel & Petrol will be powered by 1.6 motor
2. Launch expected during May-June 2011
3. Pricing - They are trying hard to keep it in the Honda City territory. Might also go to the Corolla territory for the fully loaded top end.
4. Existing Fiesta to be renamed 'Classic' and would sell at the current pricing.

He was saying that Figo has a very thin margin and because of this Ford India is not even giving any discounts to its own employees. Only offer for the employees are Extended warranty.

Mustang, if the Fiesta Classis is to be sold with the existing price, then obviously the new Fiesta (top end) will be 10 Lac+ which is bang on the Honda City territory. Isn't it ?

The new fiesta will be more in the vento territory. Around 7 Lac+ starting ex-showroom delhi for the manual petrol base version.

Add a Lac or so to any of the petrol variant prices and you get an equivalent diesel.

IMO, the hatch looks so much more neater than the sedan. The latter looks awkward with the rear not blending well.

The Fiesta hatch looks quite sporty.
The sedan somehow doesn't seem to have the boot gelled in well.

OT - The current fiesta will be one heck of a deal, when priced close to the outgoing ikon.

Looking at the rear door, I don't think the windows can roll down fully, neither in the hatch nor the notch, just like the Figo! If so, this will be the only sedan with this handicap.

The elevated boot of the sedan is going to be something to worry about since it is on the same lines as the Dzire and SX4. Also the bonnet section seems to be reduced to keep the overall dimension same as the existing sedan.
If the engine variants are going to be same for the hatch and the sedan then hatch would be the vanishing out of showrooms faster than the sedan.

Can you confirm if there's going to be an S variant of the sedan/hatch.
