re: New Ford Fiesta Unveiled : Report & Pics - Page 46

212nm looks a bit less from a 1.6L engine. I think they could have extracted more, but as long as the engine characteristics are like the 1.4 Duratorq, I have no complaints.

Mustang, could you please comment on the drivability of the new diesel fiesta (say compared to the current one)? Thanks.

This is off topic.
@vnabhi, I think the engine capacity has nothing to do with tax-free fuel as far as I know. Its only for those who buy the car on CLC that they calculate the perks on CC. If your car has an engine capacity below 1600, then Rs1800 per month is added onto your taxable income. If its greater then 1600CC, then Rs2400 per month is added onto your taxable income.

.
1.6 TDCi
Fuel efficiency : Similar to the 1.4 TDCi
Drive-ability : Better than the 1.4 TDCi as minimal turbo lag accompanied with more grunt means faster and more enjoyable overtaking.

Pretty authentic. The first cars will be sold by July 1st week. Bookings will open in June.

Hope there won't be a Vento like situation as far as waiting period for the Diesel is concerned?

Waiting period won't cross more than 2 months for any variant. That was an instruction given to all employees for this project.

Going by the figo which obviously will still sell in more nos. than the fiesta, the situation is pretty much manageable if you compare the current figo waiting period.

@Mustang,

Going OT but wanted to know if there would be an option for the existing Fiesta owners to swap for the newer one at an affordable price. Or would this be at the mercy of the dealers. I would be really interested in the 1.6L Diesel looking at my present fuel bills.

Lol , There won't be any such offer. No car manufacturer will ever give such an offer. This is because if it does then it will be like "making an offer that no one could ever refuse".

On a more serious note you can sell your car on your own and keep the money for the new car.

Scoop : Sedan Tested in Chennai - from the Renault stable ?

Hello mates,
I strike again with a set of pictures of another vehicle been tested in Chennai.
I guess this vehicle is from the renault stable doing serious testing.

The car at close looked neat, curvy, futuristic, with easy city maneuverability and spacious enough for the regular sedan.
Wonder what the specifications are like, but it was zooming through traffic as usual (same with all the test vehicles i have spotted) with no regard to anyone else and only aim being trashing the car.
I guess it will take the MS Dzire category.
It is not that big, but it definitely looks stylish, would not compare it with NHC or Vento class though.

Here are the pictures. Hope some one can put a name to it.
Hope its not a ford.

P.S. If this car is already on some thread i request mods to merge it. Thanks for the help.

Great scoop Visaster!
It indeed is the new Ford Fiesta!
Not much camouflaging there. Looks like its in the final phase of testing and homologation.

re: New Ford Fiesta Unveiled : Report & Pics - Page 46

Is the rear light cluster extended to the boot lid too for the new Fiesta a la Toyota Corolla. I liked the tail light cluster of the presetn Fiesta far much better than the new one. Only grouse is the brake light indication is too small I feel.
Is the tail light for the new Fiesta single lamp type or LED type.
