Speedo error exists for two reasons :
1) Its impossible to always be accurate, as a lot of variables affect the exact reading.
2) To minimize liability, auto manufacturers always err on the safe side.

Wikipedia puts it well :
Quote:
Most speedometers have tolerances of some ±10%, mainly due to variations in tire diameter.[citation needed] Sources of error due to tire diameter variations are wear, temperature, pressure, vehicle load, and nominal tire size. Vehicle manufacturers usually calibrate speedometers to read high by an amount equal to the average error, to ensure that their speedometers never indicate a lower speed than the actual speed of the vehicle, to ensure they are not liable for drivers violating speed limits.

Those of you waiting for the Team-BHP review of the Fiesta - hang in there

@Rehaan - you made my day. I was getting unrest on why the TBHP review of New Ford Fiesta is not up yet. I was thinking, probably Ford did not invite TBHP for the media event and I was cursing Ford for it. Waiting for the review fingers crossed as I have already booked this car.

Rehaan, when I saw your name, almost thought that you stepped in close the thread and mention that the official T-BHP review is up. Anyway this is not bad. Patience pays

Wohooo.

Hanging in here for that review. As someone mentioned earlier, almost all the reviews so far sound the same and you cannot get the true picture. A T-BHP review would clear all the doubts anyone has.

Hey you can't tantalise us like that and expect us to wait like patient kids for tiffin break

That said, maybe better to wait for the prices announcement- am getting tired of seeing these car show "review" the Fiesta with a vague-sounding indicator of how much it will cost ("between 8 and 12.5 lacs (or some such!)")

Ah! so we will finally get the T-BHP review of the NFS. Was wondering why we did not get to hear anything from the mods on this one.

Yea i thought as much but somehow forgot to post. No need to apologise my friend, it was just an oversight

Another thing apart from the rear bumber is the front bumper of the US fiesta is also different than the rest of the world so that could also be accounting for some of the difference in length.

Hurry up with that review Rehaan, we're all waiting eagerly!

Only the price is going to be the real deal breaker for the NFS. If they price it above the vento and the Verna, then they have a "Mondeo" on their hands{ in terms of sales} and if they price it at par or below these cars then you have a "figo" for sure!

And thankfully, Mr. Michael Boneham has told that Ford would go the VFM way to make its mark in this segment which has some formidable players! Cheers then

Now you see all those painful wait disappears & for FORD +TBHP

Edit: Most of the reviewers mentioned that they have not got a chance to put NFS handling a REAL test. I hope we explored ALL in our TD with NFS
