As per some earlier news even Omni will be discontinued in the 11 cities.

Also it must be noted that people can still buy the cars going to a near by place where these cars are avaliable.

So indirectly for example inside Bangalore you may find more of outside city registered vehicles, People can still go on an hours drive and pick up these vehicles and registered in near by cities like Tumkur, Mandya, etc.

Yes, people can do so. But I do not feel the cost result will be quite significant to entail going out of town to buy one.

A few people may buy at other locations and bring it to BS IV cities, not many. There will be lot of hassles involved in providing a false address proof, not worth the trouble.

Test drove the Fabia Petrol in Hyderabad today !
The salesperson was adamant that the Fabia is NOT being discontinued.
He said the current petrol version is Euro 4 compliant to begin with.

His other explainations were quite hilarious.
When asked about the possibility of the faelifted Fabia with the Polo engine by september,he claimed :
All SKodas are upgraded on a 5 year cycle.Fabia was launched 1.5 years ago...
so 3.5 years tak yahi model rahega sir !

And the reason for buying the Fabia & not the Polo was
This engine has more mileage ! With the Polo BHP has gone up, So mileage to kam hoga hi na sir

OT: 50k discounts on the classic variant going on right now.

It is really a funny situation in here in name of BS-4. Some place it tells that they will stop selling the car in 13 Cities. It means you can register in neighbor city and take those car in metro/banned city and run as usual. Again if you are a tourist and you are taking this car to a banned city will the police/rto catch you.
I think better to completely wipe out this car. if they are selling these car in 2 tier city that means that GOVT is allowing to pollute the 2 tier city but trying to save some city...

I have a query now, what about taking a BS IV vehicle outside the 13 metro cities, as the fuel complaint to BS IV requirements will be sold only in these cities, will that not affect the performance of the Vehicle?

I dont think getting a address proof is very difficult in India. If you pay some $$$ then every thing will be fine.
Even people can reg the vehicle in their relative's name and drive it back to the city. Assume that your native place is in Mangalore, so u can reg u r vehicle their and drive down to Bangalore very easily...

We will not see more or less of any cars on the road and I dont think cops will be able to notice if someone is driving a BS3 or 4 or 2 car and stop people just for this.

If anyone is free to take the pain of going to another city to buy, it is up to them and they should not face any problems

Guys,

Here's the list as of now:

- GM Tavera (being upgraded to BS IV and will be available shortly)

- Fabia 1.2. Engine will in all probability be switched to VW Polo spec which is E-IV compliant.

- M800, Palio (completely), Ikon 1.3 petrol, Sumo (NOT Grande) & Octavia 1.9 TDi = Out of the BS-IV cities. Ikon TDCi will continue.

In many posts I read that that the TAVERA will be stopped for few months and will restart with BS-IV engine again after a few months.
Now please clarify, what type of engine TAVERA have now? I mean CRDE, DI, IDI etc.
