Whatever it is, it just looks baaad. Corolla Altis will beat the hell out of that in looks.

In most of the cases, honda makes sure that their newer models adopt a futuristic and radical design change. It would be highly unlikely for them to go for such a bland looking design.

The fog-lamp cavities on the bumper are not symmetrical. This is a forged image for sure.

This is just an amateur level Photoshop/rendering job (at best). Honda has always surprised the hell out of us when introducing their next generation cars. See the transition between the NHC and the ANHC for example. Suffice to say, the new Civic will be very different looking compared the the new one. Expect the same design DNA though. Because of how they've been creating new designs, any mock ups/renders/chop jobs based on the existing car is pointless.

If anything, look at the CR-Z for clues on how the new Civic will be.

The image posted is just a PS job on the current USDM Civic.

These are the leaked images/renderings of next gen. Honda Civic.

^Now that is cool!! Very cool!

that front looks ugly, Looks like some one stuck City grill on a civic

Aaaaaand that's just a CR-Z with a few bits pulled around.

The CR-Z was supposed to be the future look of honda,so its not surprising they will be borrowing design cues from it for its next generation of cars.

The pink one is the concept which will form the basis for the next Civic hatchback. The next rendering is a mix of the
rear from the Chevrolet Volt
headlights from the City
LEDs from Mercedes and
The grille looks like a lift from the Passat with that chrome strip

While going through the carwale.com on road prices (Delhi) , I noticed that they are giving a whooping Rs1,12,442 discount on Civic V AT!! So the models costs 13.63 lac on road.

Its really not everyday when you see discounts on Honda cars, so I presume that new model is on the way. Also, considering the fact that Civic was launched in 2006, its near the end of the product cycle (typically 5 year) which Honda generally follows.

No, the new one is not coming soon. They had a new car designed for the 5 year time line, but it was scrapped completely during the economic crisis and a new car that is smaller, more economical and yet has more interior room is being designed. The 9th gen Civic's scrapping happened with the new NSX. It just didn't get as much press.

Suffice to say, the 9th gen Civic will not arrive at the 5 year mark of the 8th.

autocar india said its in mid 2011.

Pictures (as shown in the initial posts) of the 9th gen civic could be the North American version of the Civic. In India, we will get the European version. So this one need not be interest to us. But yes this could be a pointer as far as the transmission, dimensions, etc.

I highly doubt that. We get the JDM Civic now. They will want to keep that line running. The Euro Civic at the moment is a hatchback. Interesting trivia : The JDM Civic (which is itself is a rebadged Acura CSX from Canada) is the first sedan to bear the Civic name plate in Japan.
