Keeping in mind only the hindustaani naagrik, a white Scorpio with black tints and bling alloys would be my pick for best dadagiri car.

For phoren maal, look no further than a Cadillac Deville or a Lincoln Town car, both in shiny black.

Nothing beats a battered TataMobile/207 pickup. I used to drive one from my uncle's factory. I could, and did, muscle Scorpios out of the way

@kilo alpha- I am sure you didnt encounter M2Dis - there could be no way you could muscle them out of your way in a battered TataMobile(pun intended). By anychance was a crane sort of thing fitted behind the Tatamobile? I have seen a few and the loose hook of the crane surely warns one to stay out of its way !

Can really anything beat the thump closing in behind you... ever?!

No need for air horn, bling alloys, tints, color, political flag, red beacon... any help at all.
Well said mate!
Totally agree with that!

Cars that intimidate:
1. White Scorpio
2. White Safari

Out here, the Local Goons - who are also politically connected, do patronize the above 2 cars.
Have seen quite a few of them with Party emblems/ flags/ slogans stuck on the rear; and driven recklessly.
(note:- Rayban "Aviator" is also a must!)

Mods:- Lets have a poll for dadagiri car!

I remember during the steel price and mining boom during 2003-04, the till then desolate town of Barbill in Orissa became a hotbed for 'Goon' entrepreneurs putting up mini blast furnaces for producing sponge iron and shipping through Paradip port. And all of them owned Scorpios. The town was swarming with Scorpios and since there was not much of roads to the small plants dotting the area, you could see scorpios criss crossing the entire area - over rocks, over roads, across roads, through fields and what not.

Never seen a bigger Dadagiriism with cars, and it was scary being there

Did anyone mention TATA Sierra?
I remember meeting Nandamuri Hari Krishna (S/O Late NT Rama Rao) visiting our neighbours in a black TATA Sierra. I was in class X and would study late nights sitting in the balcony. He used to arrive in the Sierra Turbo followed by an old Amby. A total of 10-12 guys would accompany him. It had huge rear view mirrors (the types that we see on Volvos and trucks, don't find these on SUVs now a days).
One late night while he was having a drink with others sitting in the opposite balcony, I called him to say that he has a nice vehicle. He replied asking me whether I want to have a drive.
Really a tough and classy impression that the Sierra left on me. Unfortunately pushed out of producation.

In Mumbai it has to be the white scorpio with dark black tints. Also I'm extremely fearful about the M&M pickups which are used as cargo carriers, also by doodhwaalas, etc. They are driven very rashly on the Western Express Highway especially when not carrying any load. Not sure if the pickups can actually be qualified to be called a "car" though

Somehow the name HM Contessa always evoked these feelings.

Other cars to make the list:

Ford Endeavour
Toyota Fortuner
Mahindra Classic(All Red looks awesome!!)
+1 to Sid Indica...Amby with Red Beacon.

"M2Dis" ... errr .... <scrathing head> whats that?
Anyways, I loved the fact that everyone, Autos included, tended to steer clear of the pickup.
I have this secret dream of getting a mean jacked-up mud spattered Dodge Ram 2500 pickup and driving it with a Devil-May-Care attitude in Bangalore & Chennai.

Agree fully. This symbol of the bureaucracy is yet to be out done by any car when it comes to "dada giri." Parking lot attendants even salute when they see these cars leave alone charge them.
