Too many varied opinions here. We need a poll ... urgently!

Contenders -

1. Scorpio
2. Safari
3. Fortuner
4. Innova
5. Mercedes W124
6. Jeep
7. Omni
... and others.
Someone, please put up a poll on this.
And, can we please interest GTO in creating an article -
"How to laterally upgrade to a Dadagiri car under 6 lakhs".

Don't kill me please!

dadagiri cars:-

1. tata safari
2. toyota fortuner
3. mahindra classic
4. mahindra scorpio

cars showing that the owner is "powerful" indeed :-

1. nothing even comes close to the S class W140. radiates pure power!!
2. can't think of any after the W140. maybe an octavia or perhaps an accord.

**started writing with lots of cars in mind, but the W140 has wiped them all out...

No offense meant tsk about the 'Dadagiri' part. It's all about the car and not about the person driving it. IMO this car still exhibits its "Get outta my way mortal!!!" stance. Back in it's hayday's the only cars available were M800, Premier and Amby. This one just stood out of the lot, miles ahead (quote Airbags).

How I wish I get one of these in black!!!

WEll the second definition is when one is a Dada while driving on the road. Here the size / looks of the car does not matter but the attitude with which it is driven. An Alto "Dada" can scare the daylights out of a "Scorpio" or Fortuner if he has the "Dada" attitude
I second ambivalent_98 completely.
Old modified Ceilo cars or Black Opel astra cars are ultimate dada-giri wepons on Pune streets. Most of them are driven by these sloppy looking dada type mentality youngsters .
And again the call call center Indicabs are other dad-giri cars.
Both the above drivers exhibit very aggressive attitudes and the cars they drive are not SUV's.

I think Ford Endy is the right candidate for 'DADA'. With it's majestic tyres, I always used to think what will happen if this car roll over some one on the road. It's too big for indian roads and certainly deserves to be crowned as DADAGIRI.

I drive a Scorpio and I do give way to a Train - Now that sounds attitude.
Otherwise guys, I have seen people not giving way to an Ambulance, but when forced to give way to a Ministers convey, trust me they do with a smashed EGO. But, end of the day is this a good practice/attitude? If somebody horns one should give them way, one should not judge their intention, they may be in a serious situation, not everyone wants to race! Regardless of the size/cost of the vehicle one should respect the other the way we expect. Of course, keep those Volvo drivers in Bangalore apart from this gyan!! They would never listen!!
My few cents with good intentions and may be on the wrong thread though!!

As long as we are in cars, let's not forget the Royal Enfield!

Can really anything beat the thump closing in behind you... ever?!

No need for air horn, bling alloys, tints, color, political flag, red beacon... any help at all.

I actually don't get this "Big Size = Dadagiri" concept.
AS someone said before, if you drive like this, you are indeed an idiot!

Come to Punjab, dont give a way to a Maruti 800 and then feel the Dadagiri by him :

I agree

In bikes i think there is no other Dada available in the Market ... Everyone respects a bullet lot. Specially the old bullet with classic look & great firing noise thud thud thud ................ Better give respect.

I still remember ad of bullet where train stops for bullet. Cool ad

I think its more to do with the way a vehicle is being driven, when my friend or i drive his scorpio, people do make way (or we make sure they do). He has just one rule for people who cut lanes (specially auto and omni guys), just thrust the damn beast's nose (bonnet) forward and the rest will be taken care of. On the other hand, i have seen quite a few scorpio's being pushed around by small cars, autos and even bikes.
