I read somewhere that Ikon are Getz will no longer be sold in 14 cities because they are not BSIV compliant. That would take a big chunk out of the sales.

very neat report karpusv! Thanks very much

571 jazz is impressive compared to 230 odd last month. Punto really needs a bigger engine. <1K is too bad
also looks like Fabia hasnt been deneted due to Polo!

Logan has gone one more step back with sales of only 351!

the Indian consumer is maturing and evolving considerably.
Certainly if one pays a higher amount, one demands a greater value offering - bang for the buck.
and that's where Hyundai scores over some of its far bigger rivals.

Me too was wondering that its still selling 1000+ cars. Politicos have long since shifted to the new gen cars like Fiesta, Endeavor etc. So who is still buying close to 1000 Amby's.

Great debut by Figo. 7000+ units in March. VFM has been taken to the next level with the figo!

The Touareg is doing better than the BMW X5, the Mercedes M Class & the Audi Q7 - the German luxury troika.
Interesting. Could be an aberration.

Great report ! Things are really hotting up in the Hatchback segment ! EECo has really taken off, the waiting period here in Blore is 5 months now

Looks the 3 series Corp Ed has done it for BMW, Audi A4 - 86 BMW 3 - Series - 298 Merc C- class - 90

The Fortuner is selling more than all of its rivals combined !!

Ford should be very happy. Out of all the recent launches, seems the Figo is accepted with open hearts by Indian customers. I guess most of the credit goes to the Fiesta engine

But why Ford Ikon is drastically reduced? Does it mean customers are ready to take the hatchback with fiesta heart rather than a sedan???

Is Xylo eating a piece from Scorpio?

My few bits:

i10 close to Alto!! -> That's fantastic! Agree with shankar.balan. I believe people have started seeing the value in it given the quality of the product as a whole!

Figo@7210 -> That's brilliant! If ever there is a Best VFM car award, then this car wins hands down! Expect to see similar and consistent figures for this car.

Alto and Wagon-R losing around 5K numbers compared to last month could be attributed to:
1) Ford Figo
2) Rumours about engine upgrades

Polo@698 -> Hmmm may be people are in a "lets wait and watch" mode. Maintenance costs could be under the junta's scanner

Swift@12188 -> No doubt, this is the Sachin Tendulkar among cars!! Keeps going strong!!

Strange part:
Fiat 500@2 compared to VW Beetle@62!!

Given their price points, i am surprised how Beetles are beating 500s hands down!!Could it be because it is only a 3 door hatch?
(Why is Fiat so unlucky?? 500 is a great product!!)

Eeco@2785 vs Omni@8090!!
In spite of a competitor(sibling) newer model with a newer engine, Omni is still doing great! Surprising! Wait and Watch mode again??

Please do comment.

I wondered about that as well and visited ABT Maruti during lunch time. Alto is out of stock now and Euro IV version is expected by the end of this month/early May. They could not say anything about the price either. They have shifted all Euro III stock to their show rooms in other TN towns.

It is just a case of the company withdrawing Euro III stock from Euro IV cities.

Punto is laggin behind the competition with less than 1K. Does it have something to do with the 1.2 variants being launched. Linea is doing respectable numbers at 1203.

Indigo is doing good at 7500 units.

Camry at 113 units. Who is buying it?

Ford - 7k Figo in not a full month sell (it was officially launched in 2nd week)! awesome, and worrisome. Do Ford *** has the capacity to handle 10k cars/month?

Alto/i10 - why on earth Alto sales has dropped by 4-5k? And look at the i10 numbers - it is only 1200 less than Alto - unbelievable.

Honda: jazz discounts/new versions look to work, they have more than doubled wrt Feb numbers.

Beat : I think GM is selling all the cars they are manufacturing, and there are waiting times, so expect Beat numbers to go up
