Yep true. Its is the hidden incidental charges that makes the difference. I don't have plans of buying a figo in the near future

They might have got. Buying 50 cars is a big thing and they will get very special discounts both from Ford and from dealer too. For the dealer its less investment on test drives, sales effort etc,. part of which they may pass on to the customer.

Well deliveries of TD vehicles is going on right now, We are finishing them by monday or tuesday,
If, however your dealer has got the TD vehicles then he is likely to receive the booked vehicles anytime now.

There cannot be 400 bookings at MPL for sure, Guess the ford showrooms will never change . The only good ford showrooms in India are managed by the bhagat group as bhagat ford.

Hi Mustang: Beefing-up of bookings number is part of the sales strategy. Its just to give more juice to the excitement over Figo. They can be forgiven for that as far us they dont cheat the prospects.

BTW, any guesstimate on bookings across India so far?.

Take an average of 40-50 per dealer(as of today), you do the math

When I bought the Fiesta from MPL last Nov, they said they already had 40 bookings for the Figo. I met an MPL sales guy at that dumb TOI Auto Expo last month and he said it had gone up to 300. They have quoted 400 today. Hilarious.

Prices are pretty much the same as the Fiesta's. Will they at least give mats for free? And what the hell is Vanguard Read View 3M?

Eventhough my running doesnt justify a diesel brought it after hearing poor reviews of petrol.
No td available but started up diesel-feels pretty refined,no vibrations enter cabin.

Congrats! And thanks for posting the pics! The Figo looks much better in any other colour than the squeeze green! I kinda like "chill"
The black dash looks pretty smart aswell!

Guys I would say wait and watch. Don't expect alot from Ford.

Ford is one of the worst company when it comes to after sales service.

Assuming the price for Diesel @ Rs 37/ltr and Petrol to be @ Rs 52/ltr; and the FE for Diesel to 20km/l as opposed to 15km/l for petrol...

then a simple break-even analysis shows, you'll have to drive 60,000 kms on your Figo to get the same cost (not considering the cost of maintenance!! sorry, someone else might try to be more comprehensive). Simply put, if you intend to put more than 60,000 kms then go for the Diesel option, or else the Petrol will suffice
And lets not forget, that 60000 is a breakeven, the point at which buying a diesel and petrol even out. The profit will come over 60000 KM's (at Rs 15 per km). If someone drives 1000km per month, that's 5 yrs after which diesel would become profitable. And maintenance is higher on diesel.

However, this does not take into account things like driveability which for FIGO is said to be better in diesel.
