Tata's Global Car

Hello Friends,

Bought this months Auto Bild Magazine. It has information about Tata working up on a Global Car that would bridge the gap between the Nano and the Indica Vista. It would have variants of 5/3 Door Hatch, Sedan and a SUV as per the information. Great going Tata I must say.

Got the pic from AutoBild

Mods I did a quick search before creating this thread. Didnt find any so created one. If I missed it then would request you to merge it appropriately.

@ashutoshb

Thanks for bringing this to my notice.

Between some more information from the article. It will have range of engines from fiat's 1 to 1.4 litre petrol and 1.3 litre diesel.

5 door Hatch length will be in between 3009mm Nano and the 3690mm long Indica. Width similar to Indica.

TATA is taking a leaf out of MARUTIs book now. Getting more hatchbacks into the showroom

The car looks good though, nice meaty front, SUV like and slab rear like the RITZ

Although TATA maybe working on a World Car, I wouldnt trust any article coming from Auto Bild cos they have in the past been accused for publishing fake scoops. Nevertheless the car looks good, but looks like a Reva upto the B-pillar and like a Beat from the rear.

Whatever it is , it looks good. If it is going to be like this, atleast people won't complain about its looks. Maybe Tata can use this as an initial drawing

That is just Auto Bild's iteration of what the Tata car will look like, primarily to add some drama to the scoop. Even rest of the report is just general info about Tata taht we already know.

Its photoshopped. So obviously two cars joined together

With respect to the car, Tata is rising in ranks and popularity hugely thanks to Fiat's brilliant engines.

A nice break by Tata from its usual design cues, although i wonder how it will develop and SUV from such a short platform/wheelbase.

^^ +1. I liked the design and the grill to match. Kudos. I hope it sees the light some day.

A 3 door hatch from TATA's. Thats gonna be great

We dont have much 3 door hatchbacks in India, save alone the retired old Zen Carbon/Steel and the Dolphins / Montana's.

I do not think that this is the Tata's Global car. For what I believe could be Tata's Global car is Nano Europa (the one that was shown in Geneva last year). This one is hard to believe as a Tata car, as it does not share the attributes of any Tata car, big or small.

It is quite possible that another manufacturer might be playing VW trick with car watchers.

Coming Soon: Premium version of Tata Nano.

I just came across a news artcile that states that TML is working on a higher-end version of the Nano based on feedback from customers (to be called Nano Plus??). If this is true (TML is not commenting), would the people here consider it? The main features to differentiate it from the current Nano
1. 1L engine
2. In-built music system
3. ABS
4. Alloys

The article also speculates that the Nano Plus might be targetted at the Alto/Spark buyers by pricing it closer to them.
