If you mean the diesel, fat chance of that happening. 110 BHP at the wheels is about 125 - 130 BHP at the crank (which is the industry standard for power ratings). Even the 1.6L MJD makes 105 BHP. I'm sure if Fiat wants, it can tune the 1.3 MJD engine for 105. But that's going to mean a bigger turbo (hence, more turbolag + poor driveability), severely stressing the components (hence lower life) and lower fuel efficiency.

The only way we'll see that kind of power in the Indian Fiat Linea is via the 1.4-Tjet petrol.

There are Swift's (Pete'd ones) which are rumored to be 120bhp with the same engine.

^^ AMS could extract 1130 HP from a 2 Litre V4 Mivec engine for the Lancer EVO VIII. Almost anything is possible!

But, how much would it compromise on reliability or durability of the parts used for the mods in real world conditions!

And the OE spec would always be safe margin away from stressing the engine for performance considering reliability.

I would expect Fiat to offer the 1.6MJD in the Linea soon!

BS1V 1248cc

Hi all,

My linea diesel sticker has BS1V 1248 cc .But in the manual book its mentioned as 1248cc engine and maximum power as 85.9hp

Please help me in conversion of cc to hp.
Is the below conversion is correct ?
15 to 17cc = 1 hp
1ps = 1·01387 bhp

Power increased in Linea Diesel?? Yup, its now 92 BHP!-img_3435-fileminimizer.jpg

What's this?

1ps = 1·01387 bhp
Wrong
1 PS = 0.9863 Bhp.

And you can't draw any relation between 'cc' and 'hp'.

Usually the manufacturer does the job of putting the car on a dyno and then arriving on the BHP figures.

I guess FIAT has not updated it's manual for the BS IV versions. But yes, the power is upped in the BS IV version of the Linea MJD.

But engine life will be extremely short. They literally start blowing/throwing parts as you drive along. Very short engine rebuild intervals.

May be since I am not rich, I will never understand this but it amuses me to see some guys spend a few lakhs just to gain 2 to 3 seconds at 0-100 KPH and to add 10 to 20 kph to the top speed.
