I don't think that will be a good idea as it can be a potential fire hazard for your car.

Just imagine if one of the BMW logos end up on the police jeep themselves.

Also here's a thought on my behalf for all those who have lost their logos (especially names of the car) why dont you use a Team Bhp sticker in its place?

I can relax - nobody would want to steal an old Fiat logo. Not even a new one may be.

that was my reaction reading your post.

Welcome..I should say. FIAT logos of Linea, Punto as well as older and new Palio Stile are so common to be stolen.

Don't be in that impression that old Palios are not attractive, infact they are a lot in my vicinity like Navi Mumbai and Mumbai too.

Guys,
Any idea where can we get hold of Sticker type logo's for New City in mumbai.

My eyes have gone sore watching the car without logo, and jealousy is increasing watching similar cars passing by with shinning logo . I believe something is better than nothing

Me too a victim of the logo theft and that too in Bangalore sanjay Nagar Area.

I had to get a new OEM at the cost of 250 rs. I believe now that its all happening in every major ciry across india. I have also spotted few cars here in bangalore with missing logos.

Clevermax,

If you go through the thread, you'll read my post regarding the Fiat Logos stolen from my Linea. So don't be under any impression that Fiat Logos are not attractive to thieves. My friend who too had bought the Linea lost his logos a week after taking delivery.

My point is not to scare you - But just to alert you that do take care of the car and try not to park at any lonely spot.

When there's a short circuit, that's the worst nightmare to happen. Also I remember reading that the logos are pulled not using hands, but using some thread type of materials. So if the thief knows that the logo is electrified, it hardly matters for them to prevent from stealing. It will only help them remain little cautious.

Short circuit can happen to any of the wires in the car, that is why our cars are equipped with a good quality wires which can resist the current they carry, this means this needs to be connected with a heavy wire which can carry the current (Havels wires that dont catch fire, example not that I am using it for this, maybe i should consider it).

I think they use a screw driver and not a thread, the thread cannot pull out a emblem which is fixed with double tape and Feviquick on it. While mine was pulled out I could easily see big scratches around it which was definetly of a metal object that was used, atleast he gets a current and learns a lesson, the word will spread, they will be in 2 minds before touching the next one, i am sure they will find a way out but we cannot be sitting as a spectator , also It is not possible to pull it out easily, it needs strength and right tool which can go under it.

Cheers

I can understand your frustration, but passing current is not the right way, this is what I intend to say.

You can probably fit in some kind of alarm that goes of at the drop of a leaf too. But then if the guy is smart he'll not let you sleep by continuously dropping something on the car until you switch off the alarm at night. If you're in an flats, probably tipping a security could help. I'm trying to adopt defensive style.

PS - If the guy get the electic shock, he'll start using screw drivers with insulators, it will not prevent him from the theft.

I got an idea, why dont we use logos which have a mechanism such that we can remove the logos ourselves when we park in lonely/theft prone areas.

Only one thig to becareful about is that not to let other car owners to think that your the thief cause then they may start thrashing you.
