Re: Car logo theft / monograms stolen in India

Actually Anurag, this is the solution of the problem. If the market is flooded with such reasonably priced logos then no one will steal it, except morons and vandals but there cannot be scam.

Recently I had to replace the logos on my boot lid:

Swift = Rs 62
ZDi = Rs 54
ABS = Rs 76
Suzuki - 'S' = Rs 58.

Looking at these rates I was pleasantly surprised.

Do look at Ministers road for some help with these logos.

It is embarrassing to go about with "twit" as the badge.
Let's hope someone doesn't remove the w!

I think it would've fallen off, especially if a pressure wash was done recently.

Thanks. I will check out Minister Road sometime. Wish Ford logos were as cheap as the Maruti ones you have mentioned

Searched Aliexpress yet? (Links). E.g. Link 1, Link 2.

These are cheaper Chinese replicas although it sports the part number, Made in Germany mark, logo etc. but will look 99% like the OEM logo. Go through the reviews posted by the users - someone would have shared some crucial info or pics. Vendors are very helpful and communicative - in case you have a doubt, measure the logo's slot diameter from the trunk and inform the vendor. He will respond. Lastly, shipments from Ali takes a while to reach Indian shores - China Post is the slowest (a fortnight to 2 months), HK Post is faster 7-15 days).

I got one through quikr for now.

It looked exactly like the emblem from Aliexpress and the guy who sold it to me claimed that it is original and have bought it from a mechanic to modify his Alto

The only difference I see is that in my car's front emblem which is original, it is more 3D where I can feel the separation between white and blue where as this is just painted. I am afraid that Aliexpress symbols might be the same.

These guys are smart as they appear to harmlessly rest against the vehicle while they do the job. Yeah, but it's surprising at 5 gardens. I thought we had got over this menace!!!
Had used feviquick to ensure they don't get it easily in one piece.

Re: Car logo theft / monograms stolen in India

My Honda City's rear logo was stolen from my parking lot when I was out of town for 2 weeks! I noticed they were screwed, so the guys opened the screw and took it out.

Anyway, - anyone knows where to get the Honda logo in Pune, hoping to find some 3rd party shop or something ? I live in Hinjewadi area, called Crystal Honda but they dont have a stock and the guys weren't sure about the price either... they said they will check, but no call backs yet.

My 2014 fluidic Verna had the CRDi badge only on the right fender ??? (Seriously Hyundai, cost cutting with that too). Got another one for 500 bucks at 99rpm.

Re: Car logo theft / monograms stolen in India

Many people do this for kicks and vandalism. They remove the car name branding from the back of the car. The "H" in my Hyundai was brutally removed.

Re: Car logo theft / monograms stolen in India

I've seen more than a few vehicles in Kerala with their badges removed. Its plain jealousy. Few months ago, I come out of a shop in Menaka, Cochin(already notorious for helmet theft) to see some jerk leaning against my beloved Baleno and trying to remove the Baleno logo with his car keys. Not in any hurry, just standing there casually trying to key it off! I walk up him, inches from his face, and I'm not exactly a small guy . I talk to him in a forced calm voice. His response? "Chumma, I was trying to see if it would come off!".

Atleast here, I can say jealousy is a motivating factor for such vandalism.

I was told by VW that the logo issue has been resolved. Anyone seen VW logos flicked for newer cars?

Just yesterday someone nicked my 4 month old Ventos front logo. Made my blood boil but am helpless.

If you do buy the logo from the grey market, chances are, it's stolen from someone else. As long as there's demand for it, these will be stolen.

If the logo is not incredibly important, consider getting a waterproof reflective sticker as an alternative. I truly don't want this to come across as a mean statement or me trying to be too clever/telling you what to do. Just thought I'll share my opinion.
