Yeah this is true. Especially skoda logos. My laura logo was stolen from the car. Although my dad wanted to get a new one from the dealership (800 bucks) I never let him get one, because I thought it would be stolen. Now this time the car went for service, my dad sneakily got a new logo installed.

I suppose that question was for me?

I prefer not to park it in the open but when I am left with no option I try and find a safe street parking spot.
At the office and home it's parked in the compound or garage. Most restaraunts and nightclubs give me a spot near the door whenever possible.

The 5 series does not need window locks, there is no room around the mirror to pull it out. Check out this pic I uploaded today here, you can see my rear view mirror: http://www.team-bhp.com/forum/super-...ml#post1215755

I had my fabia logo at the back stolen almost a month and a half back. Checked with the Skoda said 800 for the same. So, far had not out the monogram. Until I found a person who managed to get a same look alike one, just like the OE skoda monogram, the only thing is it doesn't have the emboss effect and compared to an OE monogram it's around 4-5mm smaller in diameter. Looks exactly like the OE logo. I called for 1 first just to see what it's quality like and now calling for 2-3more. Cost well just paid 150 for each. Called for extra incase someone decides to take it off will always have another one in handy.

Lately saw 2-3 3series BMW without their front and back monogram. I suppose both front and back cost about 5K for it. Ouch!

Hercules, the cycle maker, has taken a note of this and now hercules cycles would be having stickers instead of logos. This is in view of the fact that many hercules cycle logos were stolen .

Get this : I've been seeing Indigo & Meru cabs with missing logos! What could they possibly get for a Tata or Mahindra badge in the after market?

They export it to foreign countries where TATA is an international brand (Namibia, Zambia etc etc).

Jokes apart, I am sure they are getting some good revenue on this. But, the million dollar question is, what are the companies doing to stop this?

Nope mine Skoda Laura is blue.

It must be more aggresive around certain parts of the city.

Every other car I look from my right OVRM or passing by, I see the logos missing.

I enquired at the service center about FIAT logo, the guy says the new red logo which Palio MJD carries cost around 1200.

Guess what Linea's logo cost more than that...and we hear linea logos too missing!

Welcome Linea to grand theft of missing logos!

Thats extremely sad, Gogi. 5 gardens, evening time is prime time for them. Quiet, low lighted streets perfect conditions! I feel wandering druggists are also part of these gang.

I doubt this will ever end!

Another one bites the dust. My palio logo got whacked today in Chembur (w). Had gone to register to vote. Came back after two hours (yes that is how long it took) and the front emblem was gone.

My "local intelligence" tells me that these end up with autorickshaw mechanics who use it to pimp their clients rides.

On my way into work in my monogram less palio, spotted no less than three autos with BMW logos. Guess it improves their 'status'

That isn't the actual BMW monogram on the rickshaw, its just a sticker.

On the brighter side, it's free publicity for BMW I have seen growing recognition of the brand with lower/lowest income level people, atleast in Bombay. Very often I see beggars and street kids say "Dekh, BMW" to each other when they spot one. The three pointer star was always recognized by them but BMW catching on so fast is quite suprising.
