It's a bit too much bling for me too. We're both getting old, still driving a late 1990s design.

I didn't like it.
From the front angle, the way one can see the rear quarter panel fading away reminds you of the ANHC's rear end. They're very similar.
I really like the old Verna in the metallic copper/bronze color; certainly a looker!!

I hardly found any similarity between the two. apart from the 3 lined grille nothing is similar. The front bumper is very different and so is headlights.

I too echo the point made above that the front looks resemble quite much to Camry. But this is a big improvement form the current one. The current one was carrying very average looks. No offenses to any proud owner .
However the performance of the current version is very good.

Looks like they mashed up the Etios, the Camry and the i20 to produce this. But I like it better than the current generation Verna.

front
camry (grill & nose)
nissan 350 (shape of headlights)

side:
ford fiesta (yet to be launched in india - muscular lines unmistakbly borrowed)

rear
2nd gen honda city (high boot lines)
toyota corolla (taillights)

Wonder where Hyundai hires its designers from - though thte old verna was too tame in design yet the new one looks too bling and flashy. Coupled with the poor handling that most Hyundai's have, wonder if it will find too many takers.

Then again the odd 2nd gen Honda City sold like cupcakes - but that was a straigh "H" !!!

Front of the Civic with Innova grill, rear of NHC (Previous Honda city)

Looks good overall, wonder why they coppied from two different generations this time.
