Smile Beat LPG

CNG is not available in southern cities, so LPG vehicles are made for these cities. You can find many dual fuel vehicles like Wagon R, Spark and Santro in the south. LPG fuel costs Rs.34.85 per litre in Bangalore and offers a FE of 13-14kmpl which is very good compared to Petrol cars. CNG cars are not available in southern cities.

Seems they are aiming first Qtr of 2011. Read it here in ET

To a query on whether the company would introduce petrol variant of premium luxury sedan Cruze, he gave a negative reply adding that sale of diesel variants have exceeded the expectations.

For the same reason the company planned to introduce the diesel variant of Beat in the country. "We are planning to launch it in the first quarter of 2011 (calender year)," he said, declining to elaborate.

Beat LPG is a very good option for those looking out for dual fuel cars (me included), especially for those who drive mainly on lpg available route.

I travel to nashik regularly (around 160 kms from thane one way). I take my baleno cng. I can travel one way ie from thane to nashik on cng and have to come back on petrol (cng is not available in nashik).
Yesterday while going to nashik I found atleast 10 pumps of autolpg on thane nashik route (same is the case with mumbai - pune route)

After yesterdays drive I was instead considering buying a wagorR duo (old model), since it is now available at discount of Rs. 55K. But I would consider waiting for Beat LPG now (if only sid could somehow let us know price of beat lpg).
