| 'vento' -the Polo Saloon Is Here Hai guys,just read this and thought to share with you all(courtesy autocar). ''Volkswagen has christened the polo saloon the vento for the indian market''.Vento means the wind in italian and it is not a new name,infact during 1990 the third generation jetta -that was rebadged a vento for european market. It is a saloon which shares a common platform with the hatchback and both the sallon and hatch are same upto b pillar,except for a different grille and lights.The wheel base has been extented upto 50mm in vento and the boot has been perfectly fitted. Vento comes in two engine options-a petrol and a diesel 1.6 litre petrol has 105bhp,torque 15.8kgm 1.6 litre tubo diesel has too 105bhp,torque 25.5kgm!!  both the engines will be getting 5speed manual and later we can hope for a dsg box!! With the enormous amount of torque available with the diesel,it will be a segment winner with the brand "VW" in it if the price shown the article is correct(7 to 9lakhs).Regards guys |
