Just a small doubt: if you can get your money back with interest only if you buy a ford car, why are you considering the city?

Like everyone said, its still very early. And i dont think u'll get delivery in Jan anyway. Besides from your arrangement with Ford, there doesn't seem to be much of a choice unless you are willing to let Ford keep your money.

Agree on that but then in case of Mercs and BMW's we speak from Top Gear / Jeremy / etc etc 's experience i guess

And i dont think Ikon will be stopped - its the bread and butter model for Ford. Maybe they might discontinue the 1.6 ...... damn that thought spoils my day !

I really doubt if Ford will stop production of the Ikon. They have recently achieved 100% indigenisation. Makes no sense to throw away that advantage now and increase sales with the cost benefits being passed on to customers.

Also, Ford is looking to increase its offering in the C-Segment, where it has just one as of now viz. the Ikon. Now with the Fiesta, Ford has double the options to offer the customer, an entry level yet exciting Ikon or the C+ segment new Fiesta.

At most, they might pare down the Ikon range to just one engine displacement and trim level, maybe the 1.3 Flair at the bare minimum.

They are going to stop Ford Ikon all models. This is correct info I got from that Service manager(He is reliable).
And they are going to introduce Petrol/Diesel variants in Fiesta.
Ford has understood what Indian's need. Just FE.
And they have concentrated on that, and now we are going to see New Ford avatar.

Lets hope Ikon prod., won't be stopped.
Even I have Ikon 1.3

Will the petrol engine be the same as that being used on the Fusion ? Does that give 12/13kmpl ? I mean 'good C/C+ segment petrol FE' should read around that figure isn't it - NHC , Baleno territory ...

But I guess FE isn't the only thing everyone is looking for, in that segment .. the Accent sells a lot .. don't think it's FE figures are that good ..

70 K more than the erstwhile 1.8 D ... so does that mean we are looking at the Fiesta Diesel to be around 7.25 L ??

What does everyone think of this figure ?

Got a call from Ford today but they were not ready to disclose even an approximate price of the Fiesta ... and I respected that.

What's the mileage of Accent. I am under the impression, it will give around 11-12 in city driving conditions. Going to book one for my colleague, pls confirm

I dont think the ikon will be discontinued. according to the logic its the ikon that is getting ford the bulk of the revenue.

what ford will do is move the ikon a segment up in price and then launch the fiesta against the NHC.

Regarding NHC as a selection with the Fiesta is not proper. Both are meant for different uses. You can consider a optra 1.6, NHC VTEC or the lancer invex instead. BUt I think Fiesta will beat all as it is a newer product and Ford has invested considerably. Diesel Fiesta is an altogather a different thing.
