From the short review that has been posted from an australian website above, hyundai seems to have addressed the achilles heel of all their cars on sale today. None of the hyundai cars on sale today are known for their handling. They also have an history of pricing their cars a little on the expensive side, I would wait and watch rather than jumping to a conclusion on this.

I just had a friend of mine update me about the ad he has been seeing on TV since the last few days. He says its of the new Elantra!

Has anyone seen that? I am waiting with bated breath to see the advertisement, if there is one. Or did he see the Sonata ad? He is adamant its the new Elantra that he has seen.

That's Sonata's ad, which he must be referring to. Otherwise, Elantra's ads are on Sports (Espn , Star Sports, etc) reported by others too, as far as I can recall, posted in this thread earlier.

Sidindica where are you ? You are the only one who can get us some concrete information about the launch of the new Elantra just like you did for the Verna.

Spotted this couple of weeks back. Looks nice though did not find it to be as big as Elantra, was thinking it may be a facelifted Verna.

U.S. safety regulators have opened a preliminary investigation into the 2012 Hyundai Elantra after a side curtain airbag allegedly injured a driver in a crash.

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration says the probe, opened on Thursday, covers an estimated 123,000 vehicles.

NHTSA received one complaint of an injury associated with the deployment of the driver-side curtain airbag during a crash. The driver’s face and ear were lacerated.

Photos of the crashed vehicle show a metal part protruding from the left edge of the headliner above the driver seat.

I must say the car looks wonderful. I happened to drive the new Sonata last week and after reading about the stiffer suspension, etc I was excited.. only to be let down after a drive. Its slightly better than the other Hyundai's but still nervous at higher speeds. The car still bounces around on uneven roads. Drove the Accord after the Sonata and it felt MUCH better.

So people, don't expect much on the suspension front. Its going to be a typical Hyundai. Good looks, great interiors & features / gadgetry, very nice engines and bad to terrible handling !

Is the 1.6L going to be in the same tune as in the verna? I expected a larger engine but guess if they can price it below the comptetion, then its good. The Elantra is supposed to be the best handling Hyundai and am sure they will load it up with features to make it attractive. I will buy this if they can give me a decent handling car.

Ok will not ask you to reveal them

Please find out if they will offer an automatic in the Diesel and will they have a sunroof in the top spec car.
I know the sunroof is unlikely since the Sonata did not get one !

Also, any indications of the pricing from your 'sources'?
