Ford really lost a chance to spurce up sales when it introduced a midlife facelift. It was a minor bumper job.A refurbished interior woul have done the trick.98% buyers dont give a heck to sportiness.
Are there more limited edition ones than ordinary ones on road? ;-)

I would like to reiterate my question - Why does not Ford include the goodies provided for the Limited editions in the base variants and sell it at the Lt edition prices. Why introduce a new variant altogether?
It is seen that most of the BHPians agree to the limited editions being brought on but has that created a sudden demand of the vehicles, IMHO I dont think so. A buyer going for Ford sedan must have done his study properly and arrived at the decision to go for it based on several factors. Now a Ltd edition would attract the buyer purely on price basis and not on the actual buyer requirment. What about the resale value of the Ltd editions, would it be better than the normal Fiesta variants.
Are we hoping to see Ltd editions in Ikon, Endevaour and may bein Figo too??

The Escort was stopped soon after a Limited Edition Orion.
The Earlier Ikon was stopped after a Limited edition where you got the Sxi bumpers on the lower variant. (DOnt remember what it was called)
The Fiesta 1.4 was stopped after some similar gimmick
Its just the Fusion that went into the oblivion without any fuss. Maybe Ford was so Confused that they did not know what else to do with such a good/capable car.

Getting back to the question, I would like to know how does Ford coming up with limited edition affect anyone.
I do understand it is gonna boost the sales of Ford (which it actually is) but not sure why would one complain.
I do not see anyone loosing out because of Ford coming up with a limited edition packed with additional features..

The losers would be those who purchased a Fiesta just before a LE was announced. These folks would end up feeling cheated.

They would have essentially puchased a more expensive Fiesta with less features. Example would be those who purchased Fiesta 1.6 ZXI earlier to Nov 09 (when a LE 1.6 ZXI was introduced with leather seats, etc).

I dont think they are loosing anything, remember they still have the car with them to enjoy. This kind of discount will keep happening all the time in FMCG sector, no one complains a car is enjoyed by what you get its not defined by what you miss. I am still not having a feeling they have lost anything.

For e.g. New WagonR was launched with K Series, that doesnt mean those who purchased old one ten days before launch have lost anything.

On a similar note, saw an ad for Chevy Aveo limited offer at 5.63 lakhs ex-showroom.

Good VFM?

Oh yeah, they have missed a better engine, more features and better build!!! But they won't feel they have missed something, since it was a concious decision to buy the older model. WagonR upgrade was always expected.

In case of fiesta LEs, they are always unexpected and catch you unawares. Hence new fiesta owners would definitely feel pissed at having missed a better deal by a whisker.
