Sometime after I had bought the M800, I took it in for some warranty work. Quite a few of the EPS Altos were lying around. All 3 pots. When I enquired about the Vx with PS, was told it had not yet been launched. Did not make detailed persistent enquiries though.

Next when I enquired, heard that the Vx (as also the M800 5speed) had been discontinued.

Maybe TBHP should include a Births/ Deaths/ Marriages section in its classifieds!

Overall the car looks like very sporty, thats a plus for the car compared to the new sedate looking one.
I am still interested to know the target customers of the vehicle, would it be college goers (like Astar and estilo) or the new married couples(like current Alto) or 2+2 family types (like WagonR).

This is one news that would make me say oh! **** I just brought a Figo. It will definitely stop current 800/Alto folks from upgrading to Figo. I think Figo was converting a good number of 800/Alto owners to Ford.

Untill then Keep upgrading to Figo.

Well, I'd say that the customer looking at the Figo wants something more from the car than what the Also can offer, the space and the ride and handling.

So whoever can afford to 'upgrade', should do so.

gaps are visible. or may this is just the pre-production model. The production model might not have these flaws. Let us wait until 3rd of Aug. to find out.

Indeed it does. It looks like a weird shape inspired from the Beat, but totally looks out of place.

So now the Alto bashing has started... guys let the car come to ground, we can have a look then comment on anything... just looking at a 10 sec ad and commenting negetively will not do justice to the car, after all we are talking about the highest selling model in India.

i love the car Alto for what it is! infact the whole india loves it, thats why it India's favorite car! the sales charts prove that.

see how Maruti messed up the old zen by introducing the zen classic, then the new zen with face lift, then came the zen estilo and the story continue.

the face of the alto is perfect, the engine is superb, the interior are simple and useful, BUT, dude you need to have a good butt too!

this aint no Alto Bashing!

The rear-lamps could have been done better, I agree. So those who find fault with it do have a point. Regarding panel-gaps, I think we need to have a look at the car than use snaps from a teaser-video. Overall, the car looks great to me. And for that I can ignore the tail-lamps.

BTW, was this refresh a Maruti-India R&D effort ? If so, we need to give those guys their due for a pretty good job. Usually we end up bashing them for screwing up the looks of a nice car in the name of refreshing it.

EDIT : Have asked my in-laws to hold their Estilo purchase till the K10 is out.
